Coffee Cup Mysteries Series (1-2) by Neila Young
Requirements: ePUB / MOBI Reader, 2.3MB | Retail
Overview: Neila Young is a Midwestern girl and a lover of coffee, live music, and horror movies, not necessarily in that order.

Writing (and reading) mysteries are Neila’s passion, and she approaches each day by thinking, “everything is a story.” She has been writing all her life and can’t remember a time when she wanted to do anything else. She loves to take notes and spin tales about the quirky characters she meets, and she has found that she can create some great stories by asking “what if” and “suppose that…”

Neila studied journalism at the University of Kansas then spent many years suffering the trials of corporate America, writing about everything from financial risk management to software user manuals to website copy about radiators (sadly, that’s not a joke). She finally decided to take the plunge and write the cozy mysteries she loves so much, complete with recipes!

Jane Doe by Victoria Helen Stone
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 0.6mb
Overview: A double life with a single purpose: revenge.
Jane’s days at a Midwest insurance company are perfectly ordinary. She blends in well, unremarkably pretty in her floral-print dresses and extra efficient at her low-level job. She’s just the kind of woman middle manager Steven Hepsworth likes—meek, insecure, and willing to defer to a man. No one has any idea who Jane really is. Least of all Steven.
But plain Jane is hiding something. And Steven’s bringing out the worst in her.

Nothing can distract Jane from going straight for his heart: allowing herself to be seduced into Steven’s bed, to insinuate herself into his career and his family, and to expose all his dirty secrets. It’s time for Jane to dig out everything that matters to Steven. So she can take it all away.
Just as he did to her.

The Lord of Misrule by Paul Halter (Owen Burns #1)
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 0.6mb
Overview: "The two figures stand at the top of the hill and survey the desolate winter landscape, still and silent under the full moon. In front of them is a smaller hill. The man they are trailing has just begun his descent towards the frozen lake less than a hundred yards beyond.

Nothing else is moving in this lonely place. The snow has just stopped, leaving a thin, pristine blanket as far as the eye can see; the wind is creating small flurries in the baleful light. Now the two men walk slowly down into the small depression between the hills, temporarily losing sight of their quarry. They become aware of a strange intermittent whistling sound which can be heard above the wind, interrupted by a sudden, hideous scream. As they crest the brow of the new hill, they are stunned to see the inert form of the man they have been following lying at the edge of the snow-covered lake. Their eyes scour the landscape, from the slope of the hill down to the distant clumps of lakeside trees dimly visible in both directions.

The only footprints that can be seen on land or lake are those forming a lone trail leading to the sprawling figure, evidently made by the victim himself; everywhere else there is powdery snow. They hasten down towards the lake, creating fresh tracks of their own. Reaching the body, they turn it over: the man has been stabbed through the heart. But there is no weapon to be seen, either on the surrounding ground or on the surface of the adjacent lake, where the flurries of snow are still dancing in the wind…"

The Night of the Wolf (Short Stories Collection) by Paul Halter
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 0.3mb
Overview: Collected here are ten superb tales by today's master of the seemingly impossible crime, the Frenchman Paul Halter. Coffins dancing in a hermetically sealed crypt, a tunnel that murders people, a werewolf killer who leaves no trace on the snow, a victim killed by an invisible hand at the top of a guarded tower, a homicidal snowman that kills in front of witnesses... There cannot be a rational explanation for these and other hideous crimes; and yet there is. Each story is a glittering example of the brilliant plotting and atmosphere of foreboding that characterized the Golden Age of detective fiction.
