the u.s government is shutting down u.s registered filehosts with their sick policy. the world is not a slave of united states. internet belongs to everyone. we cant just shut our mouth and watch what united states in doing. they screwed megaupload and other filehosting sites.

webmasters! please be smart this time. dont register any of your sites in united states. dont buy dot com domains. host your site in russian servers with a russian domain extension.

russians! now you got a golden opportunity. make use of this opportunity. fileserve is gone! videobb is gone! filejungle is gone! megaupload is gone! videozer is gone! filesonic is gone! wupload is gone! almost all of the majour players are gone. so many uploaders in this forum waiting until someone standup with a stable filehosting site. russians! this is your turn! we know that you guys dont give a damn on american policies.

Belive me you have no idea what your government (with corporations behind it) is capable of if they smell money.

You say we should just sit back, relax and wait. I unfortunately had the chance to learn that if you don't protect yourself no one else will protect you. The whole point is that the people should make as much noise as possible or believe me it wont be good at all for all of us. Have you even read SOPA and PIPA? This was just a sneak preview of what we can expect if we remain quite. It's better to blow up the problem then to underestimate it.

Thanks for the LOL... All I can say is you really don't have a clue what goes on over here... and bombed your country? No factories, hospitals... ect... I am going to assume you mean Iraq and if that is the case I would say you need to quit sitting on the computer, get outside and help rebuild your country. Yes the US tends to do stupid things, no doubt about it but it doesn't mean its citizens are doing great. If I was doing so well why in the XXXX would I be pirating comics and ebooks? I am on food stamps, college loans and haven't worked in 3 years while I try to finish school so I can get a decent job. My life is FAR from perfect but it still is no excuse. I will pirate while I can, when I can, and what I can but I sure as XXXX ain't gonna XXXXX when they shut down some filehosts and claim a world wide calamity... learn to use BT and FPS and quit being a computer n00b.

@MoR.PH we can totally do it. movie, music and software are not necessity goods for life, so you can live without them for some time. I know for some people, living without software is a problem, but we can use backdated versions. If you can reduce even 10% of their sales, you should count yourself successful because when we are talking in billions, 10% loss in sales is a huge deal.

@haczaturian spread the word to other forums too. we need a lot a people if we really want to succeed. We want our old internet back!

A BIGGER PICTURE?
But you are missing the bigger picture. Since 9/11 the US has introduced oppressive 'Orwellian' bills to infringe the long-held freedoms of the US citizenship. This is why some people feel they set up the 9/11 tragedy. (I personally don't hold to that but there is little evidence either way, although it is strange that these new Bills were pre-written and apparently awaiting implementation in law.)

In the last few years the US has been attempting to extend it's legal reach to citizens in other nations. Where a one-way extradition treaty cannot be made it appears to the observer that they used military power instead. (In my country the US can grab citizens to the USA for breaking US law, but we cannot extradite a US citizen to our country.)

Some conspiracy theorists would say this is the Illuminati (hidden power behind governments) extending its hold over the world. I say it is the mega-rich extending their power over governments. The 'haves' have always dominated and enslaved the have-nots. This is the history of the World. They once called themselves Kings and so on. I call them tyrants.

They wish to keep us poor and enslaved to the consumer system so they will stay rich and powerful.

As far as this goes in the USA why not ask yoursef why people wanting to be the nation's President have to have multi-million dollar backers? And once these people become presidents or senators who do you think they are controlled by? They have a debt to pay to those who paid for them to get into power and we see that debt paid back in wars (and the profit it makes the rich) and in Bills like the one we are seeing in action now.

So get real, sweetie. I don't generally like or believe in conspiracy theories. but it must be that occasionally conspiracy theory is not just a theory but a fact.

WHAT IS COPYRIGHT CRIME?
As far as copyright goes, where would we be if all the important discoveries (not really inventions are they) were kept private and only for those who could afford to pay? The Wheel, the internet, the aeroplane? What about the early scientific discoveries like Penicillin and how microbial life forms make us sick (rather than demons)? We have seen what happens when truth is copyrighted: How can you copyright reality like genetics? Think of all the ideas that make our societies what they are? Almost all the great ideas were never bound by copyright laws. So the ideas could evolve into great ideas.

I say 'copyright law' is the real crime happening here.

If I copy software I don't 'steal' the software. The owner of it doesn't lose it. He doesn't even lose a financial 'sale' of it if I never intended to purchase it (I only purchase good software). So is copyright'crime' is some philosophical idea, like the dark-ages crimes of the Catholic Church. So we get burned at the stake for nothing substatial at all.

Next it will be a 'Crime' to think the 'wrong' thing. With political correctness, this is already starting to happen.
