This tutorial will teach you how to back up your SHSH blobs using TinyUmbrella

Currently Apple is only signing 4.0.2 signatures, so only 4.0.2 SHSH blobs will be saved!

This does work with non-jailbroken devices as well and it is recommended you save these SHSH blobs if you are considering to jailbreak/unlock in the future.

This guide only applies to the following devices: iPhone 3G[S], iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3G, and the iPad

Step 1: Download the latest TinyUmbrella from here: http://thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.com/
Step 2: Plug in your iDevice, Run TinyUmbrella, and hit advanced:



Step 3: Hit Save My SHSH


Step 4: Check the status of the SHSH backup


Step 5: Check if the SHSH blob has successfully backed up


Congratulations! You have successfully saved your 4.0.2 SHSH blob!

I'm not too familiar with that shsh thingy. I have a 3.1.3 jailbroken 3gs (new bootrom) using spirit.

Does that mean i could save my shsh using this app, then i could update to whatever (lets say 4.0) and if i am not happy with it, i can restore back to 3.1.3 using shsh?

Now if that is the case, this programs save shsh but will i use this program too to restore using my shsh?

If not, how do you restore with that shsh thingy?

Since you already told me here viewtopic.php?p=650742#650742 that you have your SHSH saved on cydia, there is no real need to make a backup of SHSH blobs using this method.

Thats because i made it using this kind of method, but i figured out everything about shsh (it was my first time trying to upgrade/downgrade)

I didnt save my SHSH blobs and now my iPhone 3GS wont turn on correctly. Restore doesnt work. Phone only goes to screen with iTunes logo and a usb cable. Any help?

What iOS do you have ?
Did you ever jailbroken it before ?
