Requirements: unlocked windows phone , file explorer , storage explorer (for pc) , wp7 3mktplace
Overview:
i figured a new way to patch marketplace apps
After the new encryption of marketplace the xap files couldn't be opened by winrar
The idea is to get the xap from the phone and patch it
1.first download the application from marketplace (trial)
2.now we need to know the app's guid ,there is many ways , u can use (cache clearer) or (wpxapcreator)
3.use a storage explorer (on pc) (you can use : windows phone device manager or windows phone power tools http://wptools.codeplex.com/) and go to (application/data/(application guid)) from the previous step
and copy that folder to your pc
4.right click on that folder>add to archive>chose zip>ok
5.change the extension of the zip file to (xap)
6.now you can patch the file using wp7 3mktplace then deploying it to your phone
7. Now u can thank me for that effort

 

i tested it on my mozart with deepshining v 4 room
but it must work on any unlocked device

is much easier is with WPDM

Start and sync phone with WPDM
go to "Manage Applications", find installed app, right click and select "Go to Installed Data"
select Install folder and transfer to PC

then simply zip all from install folder, change name to xap and patch with WP7 3MktPlace

Perfect! I just tested your WPDM/3MktPlace method with SkyMap and it works perfectly. Now, what do we do about apps that don't have trial versions?

Seems that wpdm is easier
But i didn't mention that because wpdm doesn't working on my windows

how do you patch an app using the 3mktplace? i used 3mktplace to patch apps before the encryption and the program downloaded and patch it allready... how do you only patch them?

Edit: Been trying to patch some apps with select tools - single patch - input file - process but always get the same error
"Error extracting... There's been a problem extracting the zip file. ZipEntry::ReadHeader(): Bad signature (0x21726152) at position 0x00000000 Delete the temporary files and the failed xap before attempting another download"
Does anyone know why this happens?

i cant tell you... never have this problem...

if you guys zip wrong folder structure, this also can be reason way crashing... i tested this... ok this is right procedure:

Requirements:
- full unlocked ROM with root access
- WPDM http://www.touchxperience.com/applicati ... 22/33.html
- dont forget to give WPDM root access...

in WPDM, go to install folder (not data folder)





for example i copy install folder to C:\Downloaded files



with WinRAR, WinZip or 7-ZIP open folder Downloaded files

Create XAP file with WINRAR



select all files and folders and click Add



Select ZIP and change zip in xap in name... Click OK and wait to be done... now you can use WP7-3MktPlace





Create XAP file with WINZIP

select Zip My Files



open folder Downloaded files and click ZIP



select where zip (xap) file will be created, folder Downloaded files in this example
enter name for created xap file, click Create and wait to be done... now you can use WP7-3MktPlace





Create XAP file with 7-ZIP

with navigation bar open Downloaded files folder, select all files and folder and click Add



select zip for Archive format and change zip in xap, click OK and wait to be done... now you can use WP7-3MktPlace




Patching with WP7-3MktPlace

Select Tools
Under Single Patch with Input open xap file
click Process for beginning...

Not all apps games are showing in both windows phone device manager or windows phone power tools

and wpxapcreator simply just does not work at all on my win 7 X64 setup

all installed apps and games shows in WPDM.... it's recommended to sync phone with WPDM after fresh flashed ROM or hard reset...

p.s.
i see too much trouble and problems with x64 windows and maybe also this can be problem if not shown all apps....

Is it not possible to write with this new method, a new program that automates these steps? (I'm thinking of milkman and vbguy )). But the best course would be a program like freedome marketplace ...
