Did anyone noticed that after using the program for more than 20 mins, the phone turns very hot (i never imagined that a mobile phone can turn this hot). I used it a few times to go to a city 55 miles and after reaching, when i touched the phone for turning off the navigation, it was really hot. The screen stopped responding to my touch, and I had to cool it in front of the AC for a few mins before it became responsive again. I am using Navigon 4.1. (My guess: the program stresses the processor to near max capacity all the time)

I tried the same distance with nokia drive, and everything was normal. There was only slight heat production (I guess because of the screen turned on for so long), but nothing like when I have navigon on.

Does anyone else has this problem, or am I the only one? Btw I have a HTC Titan.

in Navigon settings try turn off "Navigon Live services" and "Optimize Traffic Recognition"
if this not help, try install version 4.0 World version

I'm very confused about this updating thing, not sure ware to ask in this place..
anyway, i've downloaded Q2 2012 europe maps from a torrent, and thinks to this thread figured out how to update them, however...
what files can I safely update?
i've updated all the map files, added brunel tunnel data.

seems to be working, but do I need to update the mapdrawer, as the one I have in the dl is only 2,250,196 and the one on my device is bigger 2,906,382?
also reality view, do i update the file for this or just use the defaults? one on device is 106,056,785 updated one... 46,238,370? its over half the size, surely that can't be right, all the map files are bigger

Been looking for as thread which shows what files you update but can't find anything

no... many of files just not supported (for example poicats.nfs not shows POI and crash Navigon when try use search)...

but if you try to replace original files with new, you must rename to same name as original for WP7 Navigon...

I've got a Navigon version that works with Au Android maps based on similar to this version - I got it going some time ago. I'll see if I can upload it

Hard to get anything half decent for Aust - I find Nokia Maps find address is hopeless in Aust. - it can't even find my home address when I enter every word for it. Finds POI in EU and US thousands of miles away. I must admit, that is one case where I miss Win6 on my PDA with such a range of great navigation apps available.

Unfortunately, Navigon has never been released for WP7 in Australia otherwise I'd buy a copy. In my opinion, definitely the best navigator for WP7 for Aus.

Use Navigon Content Downloader and Android Australian maps

Download all EU files and save to folder, then replace Maps and Data folders with Android Australian stuff

Load Navigon to device, put it in flight mode and get Au maps using Content Downloader (Zune connected).

If you get an error re can't download even with Zune connected and Content Downloader server running. Try to start with Content Downloader server still running and flight mode off (Zune connected), click on "Enter an Address" and it will try to get maps, when it says about about to download data, toggle flight mode back on and click ok to download maps. It will then download through

WARNING: DO NOT click on Available Maps - it will start a new download of original maps and mess things up

dxdy I decided to give this one a go and set it up for Europe as I'll be visiting Europe.

I downloaded all EU content using NavigonContent.exe

I sideloaded Navigon World to my HD2

Using NavigonContent.exe I loaded an EU map

When I started Navigon World whilst it was still connected it fails to load - it goes to a black screen with "please wait" and then simply exits the app back to the App list. Tried this a few times. Disconnected USB and tried again, same result - black screen.

Then I changed my device region to UK and I tied loading all EU maps using NavigonContent.exe onto the device. But I'm getting the same result - a black screen with "please wait" and then simply exits the app back to the App list.

That didn't work. So I tried another WP7 device - same result

Okay, so I tied one more thing. I allowed the device to download EU maps directly via wi-fi - took forever but it did work. Navigon World now works!

But this does defeat the purpose as another project I was going to look at was getting Navigon World to load Australian maps.

So any idea why it did not work with NavigonContent.exe and EU maps?

This version also worked with US maps. On first run, I told it not to download the required files, then I changed the region to North America, then downloaded the NA maps right on my phone through the app!!!

Now only if we could get v4.2
