or the fact that it has been stolen from mobilism.org (highlighting mobilism, of course)

or something to scare people away from downloading it, for a while at least.

OK... so... Am I correct in that submissions HERE are being placed THERE (wherever that may be) and passed off as someone's else's hard work?

It's friggin' hard ass work uploading this crap! Which is why, much to my humble shame, I troll you guys and download with glee and rush off petting the precious e-books that I have 'procured'.

By any chance... would this be why I'm starting to unzip books that now have passwords? Hmmm... smart, my dear 'procuring uploaders'! VERY VERY SMART! *insert evool maniacal laugh here*

No not really, they are fetching the post (copying the data [playergames]) and mirroring the data while still giving us credit that we don't know about. The other one listed earlier is taking the whole post and giving themselves credit for it instead of you or me.

Still sounds shady... just sayin'.

And we don't want to scare away "legitimate" mobilism users though with "threatening" / "beware" statements.

As for the passwords, I was inundated with "I cant get the password to work" PM's. I'm not complaining, it just takes time away from new releases.

As did the changing links and / or photos.

It is even more time consuming to "stop" the issue, than at this time, seems worth it, for me.

I am setting up "dummy" e-mails and "dummy" accounts and will rotate them for a certain period of time before moving to the next one. That way if / when an account gets "flagged" / deleted I only loose files from say, June 1 to June 30. Which, for me, is still A LOT of files, it's better than ALL of them.

This is kind of ridiculous when you consider the fact that all of us are committing copyright infringement, which is against the law in most if not all countries. It's like the pot calling the kettle black.

Not to offend anyone(but probably will), there is a good deal of irony invoked in people complaining about other people "aquiring" the links to books that they themselves have "aquired" from authors.

I think you two are missing the point.
Do you use this site?
Do you like the variety of reads offered?

The issue is what happens when the accounts are deleted because the links are posted on 20 different web sites and not just this one.

You have less options for books because when that happens we will be "fixing" the dead links and not have time to post new books.

I'm just saying, is all... My problem with the whole thing is as you state: the file host deletes the link because they're not placing them in their own accounts.

If my account gets deleted, I'm screwed. Just saying.

It's been awhile since I found a decent book to read a midst all this romance junk. The easiest solution would be to require registration before you can view the warez sections. Easy fix to counter the bots lifting all the links. Or just hide the links under a spoiler tag that guests can't view.

I noticed from pulling a few OLD books that have been here they had a little .txt file in the zip/rar folder. Should probably go back to using that and I think womble is inserting text into her release overviews to say "stolen from http://mobilism.org" but in VERY tiny lettering.
