EVID (Evidence Bible by Ray Comfort & Kirk Cameron) seems to have a commentary module but when I access it I only see jargon. Anyone got this to work?

I have found the New American Standard Exhaustive Concordance for the desktop version but I can't find it for pocket e-sword and I don't know how to create dictionary files for pocket e-sword. :(

Italian Riveduta Luzzi and Italian Nouva Riveduta are available for free at the developers website.

Sorry I don't have any info about the EVID module.

The pocket e-sword paid modules are full downloads from the website so it would be awsome if someone could develop a keygen. I would definately donate. :D

Can you post the New American Standard Bible Exhaustive Concordance for e-sword here?
Or do you have any program that can study Greek or Hebrew on e-sword?
Thanks

Hi DiGit
I haven't ever used the Evidence Bible Commentery so I don't know whether the module itself just doesn't work or wether the rar that I uploaded was corrupted. I have looked on my pda to see but its hard because this commentary doesn't make a comment on every single verse so its hard to know where to look. Could you give me an example like a book, chapter, and verse were you have problems and I will look in the same place on mine and check. If its ok on my copy then I will re-upload the file.

Hi ID, the verses that have comments has a red notation at the end of the verse eg Eph 2:13 But now in CHrist Jesus you who sometimes were far off were made near by the blood of Christ. [d] But I also noticed Pocket e-Sword can lose its link to the commentary and you have to reselect Resource Location under the View menu to see the commentary. I don't know why it happened but the other resources were fine. The above verse has comments.
BTW, many thanks for John Gill's cmt. Was looking for it on PPC since I had it in my Palm.

I've checked it and it isn't working for me either. I hadn't looked at it before and you're right I did need to reselect the resource location for this one. Never mind there's plenty of others and Dr Gill's is excellent. I also have Charles Spurgeons 'The Treasury of David' which is his commentary on the Psalms, the only problem with it is that it only contains the commentary itself and not the 'Hints to Preachers' like the desktop version. Still though its a worthy work full of gems from one of my country's most remerkable men in modern times. I'll upload it in the next few hours after dinner.

The Treasury of David
by
Charles H. Spurgeon

This is Charles Haddon Spurgeon's Commentary on the entire book of Psalms for pocket e-sword. You can't buy this because its not available so its been created by a pocket e-sword fan. Enjoy!

This work was first published in weekly installments over a twenty-year span in the London Metropolitan Tabernacle's periodical, The Sword and the Trowel.

Completed sections were released volume by volume, until the seventh and final volume was released in 1885. Within a decade more than 120,000 sets had been sold. The Treasury of David is a superb literary achievement. Eric Hayden, pastor of the Metropolitan Tabernacle a century after Spurgeon's ministry began there, calls this work "Spurgeon's magnum opus." Spurgeon's wife said that if Spurgeon had never written any other work, this would have been a permanent literary memorial.

About Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-92) was England's best-known preacher for most of the second half of the nineteenth century. In 1854, just four years after his conversion, Spurgeon, then only 20, became pastor of London's famed New Park Street Church (formerly pastored by the famous Baptist theologian John Gill). The congregation quickly outgrew their building, moved to Exeter Hall, then to Surrey Music Hall. In these venues Spurgeon frequently preached to audiences numbering more than 10,000—all in the days before electronic amplification. In 1861 the congregation moved permanently to the newly constructed Metropolitan Tabernacle.

Thanks. This is a great resource too. The only thing I still miss from my Palm are Amplified Bible, Geneva Bible Notes, Oxford Bible Dict, Tyndale Bible Dict and Life Application Bible Notes. Any ideas if these are available?

I have the Amplified Bible, and the Geneva Bible Translation Notes sorry I don't have the others. I've also uploaded Thompson Chain Reference.

Amplified Bible

The Amplified Bible (AMP) is an English translation of the Bible produced jointly by The Zondervan Corporation and The Lockman Foundation. The first edition was published in 1965. It is largely a revision of the American Standard Version of 1901, with reference made to various texts in the original languages. It is designed to "amplify" the text by using a system of punctuation and other typographical features to bring out all shades of meaning present in the original texts.

Geneva Bible Translation Notes

The Geneva Bible was a Protestant translation of the Bible into English.

This was the Bible read by William Shakespeare, by John Knox, by John Donne, and by John Bunyan, author of Pilgrim's Progress. It was one of the Bibles taken to America on the Mayflower, and it was used by many English Dissenters, and by Oliver Cromwell's soldiers at the time of the English Civil War.

Because the language of the Geneva Bible was more forceful and vigorous, most readers preferred this version strongly over the Bishops' Bible, the translation authorised by the Church of England under Elizabeth I. In the words of Cleland Boyd McAfee, "it drove the Great Bible off the field by sheer power of excellence".

Thompson Chain Reference

This is not a bible, it provides links between references within the bible. You will find this module in 'Dictionaries'.

The Thompson Chain-Reference system was devised by its namesake, Dr. Frank C. Thompson, in the early 1900s. Dr. Thompson was a young preacher in the late 1800s. He became dissatisfied with the reference Bibles that were then available to preachers.

Dr. Thompson believed the Bible should be presented in a simple, but scholarly way. He saw the need for a well-organized reference Bible that would be of practical use to the layman as well as a minister. In 1890, Dr. Thompson began the work he would continue for the rest of his life. He completed the "thought suggestions" opposite the verses throughout the Bible. These are what became the "chain-links" that are the heart of the Thompson system. Some of the men in Dr. Thompson's church saw his Bible and told him this would be a great help to them in their Bible study too. They encouraged Dr. Thompson to have his Bible, with marginal references, published so that everyone could enjoy the blessing of this helpful study tool.

The first version of Thompson's study Bible was published in 1908 by the Methodists Book Concern of Dobbs Ferry, New York. Five years later, in 1913, Dr. Thompson was joined by B.B. Kirkbride, of Indianapolis, Indiana. The two men formed the Kirkbride Bible Company, in order to further improve and distribute Thompson's work.

The original Thompson Chain-Reference Bible, as well as several subsequent versions, were based on the King James Bible. Currently, editions based on the King James Version, New King James Version, New International Version and New American Standard Bible (1977 version) are available, as well as electronic versions that incorporate other features.

As of 2006, there have been more than 4,000,000 Thompson Chain-Reference Bibles sold.
