2. Second Demon - Andrew is eager to destroy his second demon, a lawyer in New York City. With Emily’s help, Andrew searches for a way to complete his task. After stalking the lawyer for a week, they realize killing him will be difficult since he’s a public figure. They visit a nightclub he frequents and Emily befriends one of his clients. Under her alias, Emily portrays a prostitute in an effort to get close to the lawyer. Her role playing efforts pay off until they land her in jail.
Andrew fears he will lose Emily forever if the police discover her true identity. He contacts Emily’s best friend, Troy, for help. In a matter of hours, Andrew has to find a way to destroy the demon so Troy’s lawyer can step in and clear the charges against Emily. While Emily waits in prison she realizes the men in her life are the source of her problems. She considers her future. If she is set free, she wonders if she would be better off on her own.
4. Fourth Fight - Andrew and Emily face their greatest challenge to date. The fourth demon Andrew must destroy is a country music singer who lives with her father in a well-protected location in California. With a little luck and a lot of hard work, they acquire security jobs for the celebrity. But when they discover the singer's dad is a demon and part of her current security team is well connected to the family, Andrew's task to kill the singer seems impossible.
Part of Emily's job is to select four attractive single women after concerts so the singer can party with them at a private spot. Emily suspects foul play and starts asking too many questions. Hoping to uncover the truth, Emily joins four fans on a ship. She quickly learns the singer has no intention of joining them.
As time passes, Andrew fears for the lives of Emily and the four women. After he seeks help, he realizes the risk involved in destroying demons is growing with each new one. Andrew longs to keep Emily safe, but to do so he must make a heartbreaking decision. -
5. Fifth Regret - Andrew is in a world of misery. Having left Emily, he heads to Louisiana to destroy his fifth demon. All he can think about is the woman he walked away from. As he struggles with heartache and depression, he learns the demon he must destroy is a cop and potentially a serial murderer. Finding a way to kill the man without being labeled a cop killer seems impossible.
Anger floods Emily when she discovers Andrew left her so she could live a happy and safe life. No man has the right to decide her future. She searches the town where the demon lives and finds Andrew. Fury blazes when she confronts him. Andrew pleads for her forgiveness. Her rage quickly transforms as passion consumes them.
Together again, they come up with an idea for Andrew to destroy the demon. But when the cop arrests Andrew, their plans change. Emily must find a way to set Andrew free without putting her life in danger. Love binds them, but can it keep them alive?
6. Sixth Surprise - Andrew's days on Earth are dwindling. He delays searching for the demon he must destroy so he can spend more time with the woman his heart yearns for. Eager to please Emily, he rents a house on a beach. He savors every minute in her loving embrace. When she confirms she is carrying his child, life seems almost perfect.
Emily's emotions are out of control. She struggles to deal with losing Andrew in the future and having to raise their child alone in a world filled with violence and evil. Adding to her stress, a man shows up on their doorstep and asks for Andrew. He is an enforcer, sent to ensure those from heaven fulfill the terms of their sentence. Although he's from the kingdom above, Emily doesn't trust him.
As if the demon lurking under the façade of a priest isn’t enough of a surprise, the enforcer takes Emily hostage, almost knocks her unconscious, and threatens more harm if Andrew doesn't kill the priest in two days. Andrew fears for Emily's safety and his unborn child's. He must find a way to destroy the demon, but once he succeeds the clock will start ticking for his return to heaven.
7. Seventh Heaven - Andrew's days are numbered. With less than a year left, he delays destroying the next demon so he can enjoy time with his wife. He also aims to secure a home for Emily and their unborn child, but they must move around frequently to avoid running into the enforcer from heaven. Their dear friend Matt arrives to spend Christmas with them and offers to help. The holiday seems perfect until the person they've been dodging shows up.Emily feels responsible for Steven's appearance. To avoid more trouble with him or the people in charge upstairs she encourages Andrew to pursue destroying the next demon. Together, they leave to search for the evil man.
