Overview: I've been writing mysteries for grownups (the Shadows Antique Print Mystery Series) and historical fiction set in Maine for young people (the latest of which is UNCERTAIN GLORY, about a boy who really did publish his town's newspaper during the first two weeks of the Civil War) since I left corporate America in 1998 and moved to Maine, a state I've always loved and had family ties to. In January, 2015, Kensington will publish TWISTED THREADS, the first book in my new mystery series (the Mainely Needlepoint series)set in Maine.
Genre: Mystery Cozy

Shadows at the Fair (#1) Ignorance is truly bliss for recently widowed Maggie Summer, owner of Shadows Antiques, when she arrives at the prestigious Rensselaer County Spring Antiques Fair. Sadly, she won't remain ignorant of the suspiciously high mortality rate among her fellow antiques dealers for long. Rumors are everywhere. The most recent victim, John Smithson, died of poison at a show just last week, and many of the same dealers are here at Rensselaer. They make the identical circuit year after year, so they know each other well. Or do they?

Shadows on the Ivy (#3) Maggie Summer has three loves: her antique print business, Shadows; her career as a community college professor in Somerset County, New Jersey; and the new man in her life, Will Brewer. Her biological clock is pushing her to decide whether she's ready to add a fourth love: an adopted child. Although Will is on the road just now, Maggie's life is full. She uses prints by Currier & Ives, Thomas Nast, and William Ludwell Sheppard to illustrate her lectures on American cultural history, and Oliver and Dorothy Whitcomb, a wealthy couple who are on the college board, are two of her best customers.
When the Whitcombs design and dedicate a special dormitory for single parents and their children, Maggie is thrilled to become the faculty adviser to the young parents. Her new assignment gives her plenty of time to think about what single parenthood would mean for her. Plenty of time - until one of the young mothers is poisoned, and the web of danger at the dorm threatens to encircle Maggie.

Shadows of a Down East Summer (#5) Antique print dealer Maggie Summer’s Maine vacation is unexpectedly interrupted when she finds herself the heir to four generations of family secrets involving unrequited love, jealousy, art-and murder. In the summer of 1890, two young women posed for artist Winslow Homer on the coast of Maine. What happened that summer, the secrets the women kept, and the lies they told, changed their families forever. Now, more than a hundred years later, one of their descendants has been murdered, leaving to antique print dealer Maggie Summer the family papers that may finally reveal the truth. Maggie's vision of a relaxing vacation in Maine -- antiquing with beau Will Brewer and visiting his Aunt Nettie -- turns into a murder investigation. Maggie must discover which of the family myths are based on reality, before someone she cares about becomes the next victim.

Shadows on a Cape Cod Wedding (#6) Antique print dealer Maggie Summer is happy to help her best friend Gussie with pre-wedding preparations on Cape Cod ... until she finds a body on the beach, and the close-knit New England community no longer seems so friendly. Why does the dead man's daughter say he died two years ago .. in Colorado? Who was supplying drugs to teenagers in town? Already nervous about a critical discussion she needs to have with the man in her life, Maggie immerses herself in the murder investigation and wedding plans ... and then there's another murder ... and a hurricane ... and Maggie herself becomes a target. Maybe this time around, Maggie's gotten herself in a little too deep.

Shadows on a Maine Christmas (#7) Antique print dealer Maggie Summer's back in Maine .. will she and beau Will Brewer celebrate a romantic Christmas with snow and mistletoe? Or is there something more sinister happening behind Waymouth's wreathed doors this holiday season? One of elderly Aunt Nettie's friends has trouble remembering today .. but her past secrets, and those of her friends, are all-too clear. Her memories lead to blackmail ... and then to murder.
