Troll Trilogy by Katherine Langrish (Books 1-3)
Requirements: EPUB/MOBI Reader, 6.0 MB
Overview: Katherine Langrish grew up in Yorkshire, and has always loved reading and writing stories. As a child her favourite books were the seven 'Chronicles of Narnia' by C S Lewis. They inspired her to begin writing her own 'Narnia' stories in an old blue notebook, and she decided to try and become an author when she grew up. She kept on writing, studied English at university, married, had children and went to live in France near the edge of the Forest of Fontainebleau, where she ran a storytelling group for children. She later lived in America before returning to England and writing 'Troll Fell', the first book of the Troll Saga. She enjoys researching the historical background for her folklore-based fantasies - for her latest book, 'Troll Blood', she spent a week sailing and rowing a replica Viking Age ship on Roskilde Fjord, Denmark. Katherine now lives near Oxford and writes full-time.

1. Troll Fell
In the age of the Vikings, two children find themselves battling for their lives against the hideous, grasping twins Grim and Baldur Grimsson; the terrifying Granny Greenteeth and the cunning and ruthless trolls of Troll Fell.
Peer Ulfsson stood miserably at his father's funeral pyre, watching the sparks whirl up like millions of shining spirits streaking away into the dark.
But someone else is also at the funeral. Peer's half-uncle, Baldur Grimsson. Peer watches helplessly as Uncle Baldur sells his father's property and pockets the money. Peer is then dragged away to live with Baldur and his equally repulsive brother Grim at their mill near Troll Fell.
Peer lives a life of servitude, with only the company of his faithful dog, Loki, until he meets spirited Hilde and the Nis, his uncles' house spirit. Between them, they must foil an evil transaction between the Grimsson brothers and the sinister trolls who live under Troll Fell. The Grimssons want riches, and they will do anything to get them. and as everyone knows, trolls are rich… but they are also cunning.

2. Troll Mill
Sequel to the highly-acclaimed Troll Fell, this is just as exciting, dramatic and atmospheric. Follow Peer’s adventures as he tries to get the mill working again. But watch out! You never know what kind of sneaky creatures are lurking in the shadows, waiting to jump out at you at Troll Mill…
Troll Mill follows Peer Ulfsson, his dog Loki, Hilde and their friends and family three years on from where we left them in Troll Fell.
Returning from a day’s fishing with his friend Bjorn and with a violent storm brewing, Peer is shocked when Bjorn’s wife Kersten rushes past, thrusts her young baby into Peer’s arms and throws herself into the sea. What kind of creature would do this… and will she ever return?
On his way back up the hill, carrying Kersten’s baby to safety through the storm, Peer notices the old mill wheel turning. But it’s been derelict for years… The next day, fed up with Hilde’s constant rejections, he decides to prove himself and goes down to investigate the old mill, determined to get it up and running again and become the miller himself. But who or what creatures will be lurking in the shadows of Troll Mill… And are his greedy scheming uncles really gone for good?

3. Troll Blood
Peer and Hilde are thirsty for adventure. When a Viking longship arrives in their village, they set sail, eager to explore the world. The Water Snake is heading for Vinland, a place far across the sea inhabited by a civilization of people and new mysterious creatures, some good and some perilous.
But dangers untold lie closer than Peer and Hilde could have imagined. The ship's captain and his sword-wielding son are not what they seem, and Peer is forced to flee alone into the wild unknown. When dark forces and kindly creatures both vie for his life, Peer must rely on the help of strangers and befriends the natives of Vinland. At the end of it all, where will his loyalty lie?
In this final novel in the Troll trilogy, Katherine Langrish crafts a rich story where Viking legend is intertwined with Native American life and lore based on the Mi'kmaq people. As mysteries abound, Peer and Hilde struggle to survive in a new realm of wonder and menace.
