Overview: It is the fall of 2006, and the narrator of our story is suffering from the pain of platonic friendship. He’s in love with his best friend Jessica, though he’s loathe to actually admit it. And blinded by the flames of the torch he carries for Jessica, he’s unable to recognize the flirting he’s engaging in with Sabrina, the new girl working at the local comic book store.
A pleasant distraction to all this is the impending launch of the PlayStation 3. But when an act of fanboy rage wrecks the best laid plans, a last minute Plan B is forced into action as the narrator and his friends find themselves holding a 24-hour vigil outside of Target to await its release. There’s Chris, who since the tender age of twelve has harbored a dark secret that when revealed during a moment of weakness is reacted to by his friends mostly with indifference. Then there’s Jimmy the Furry, so named due to his countless viewings of Disney’s Robin Hood as a child that so enamored him with the foxy Maid Marian that he is left impotent without an anthropomorphic outlet to arouse him. Seth is the average one, stabilizing the rest of the group with his history of normal social interactions. But will Seth be the first to betray the mission when a temptation to sin is put forth on a level not seen since the Serpent offered a sinless but naïve young girl named Eve a bite of the Forbidden Fruit?
Your Princess is in Another Castle is a comic novel filled with more 80s and 90s nostalgia than any one person should be familiar with and chronicles a journey to the Dark Side and back, an encounter with a self-aware condom machine, and what is without a doubt, the single most disgraceful game of beer pong ever played.
