Any worthwhile books in this subject like Earth Abides? Recommendations'.

If it involves nuclear war, pandemic, economic collapse, natural disaster, so much the better.

No Zombie stories!!!!!!!!!!

The post apocalyptic genre is a favorite of mine. I've read some of what's been listed and I've got some new books to read.

Others that I've read and liked:

Gordon Dickson - Wolf and Iron
John Wesley Rawles - Patriots, Triple Ought
Nevil Shute- On the Beach
James Howard Kuntsler _ World Made by Hand

JWR is a hardcore survivalist; his books tend to diverge off into survivalist "how to" in places but are pretty good stories nonetheless.

edit: Also, if you haven't read it, Steven King's The Stand would fit the bill and is a good read as well.

I've long been a "end of the world" book lover. Lots of good books so far, but here are a few more:

Swan Song by Robert Mccammon
The Stand by Stephen King
Robopocalypse by Daniel H. Wilson
