perversion
because Dracula... "the blood is the life" when he says it he is indeed perverting the meaning of the, so called, holy scripture. In Deuteronomy 12:23 is is said that "the blood is the life" but in a different contest, this being "Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou mayest not eat the life with the flesh."... Dracula *drinks* the blood, he drinks the life... Ergo 'perversion'... There are many other very cool and meaningful perversions of judeo-christian mythology in Dracula, a very cool book that I could not recommend more.
