Lately I've have not been able to download anything free without getting many adware screens. In fact one screen told me to call a number to unlock my computer from a virus. Is there a way around these problems? It has gotten much worse in the last month.

Note that virtually all file hosts change their download pages from time-to-time, I suppose to keep us on our toes!
