I'd recommend that the programmers expand the search criterion (SQL "where" clause) to additionally include the title/subject and the message fields. For EBooks by example, searching by author only is very inefficient when trying to discover books about a particular subject (e.g., mathematics). Users shouldn't have to know all authors and then all titles by each.
I've coded a few thousand programs, normally in VBScript, but I'd be happy to take a look at the search page and try to discover why it isn't working properly.
