The number 1 resource for free ebooks is undoubtedly irc. A couple of irc servers have ebook channels. There are literally millions of free ebooks to download in all formats (.epub, .mobi etc). For instance 1 of the repositories has over 314000 titles (307gb of material). Google.

Some books by Emily Carmichael in ePUB format would nice, but I can not seem to find them anywhere online.

Its korean but any translator seems to work ok, lots of good stuff but haven't worked out how to search on it yet. Thousands of books, especially IT related stuff, they also have a regularly updated comicbook thread in the non it section plus the fiction books.
