Guy asks you to go to run an errand for him. He wants you to go to his country mansion and collect his Rolls Royce. He tells you that his garage has a security coded electric door with 10 buttons that are all defaulted to off.All you have to do is push in the correct butons that should be on. "What's the sequence " you ask and the reply is " Just remember the number of the beast"
You go to his garage and after a moments thought you push in certain buttons.
So as a Jedi Master All I can say to you is "Use the force my young Padovans"
As usual you may ask questions with yes or no answers

Short and sweet but classic Sherlockx , it should last for a while

For the avoidance of doubt you need to post details of which buttons were pressed

Yes
Question (doesn't need a reply): when pushing the wrong buttons, or the wrong sequence... does the garage explode?
Yes

That's not nice to say the day before his birthday... :(

Err... maybe the code to enter is related to Guy's age? Three digits?   /me runs away very fast...

Seriously, dear Sherlockx, do all the buttons have to be pushed at least one time?

No only the buttons that need to be on should be pushed, think of it as a switching circuit, pushing a button that should be off sounds an alarm ( then causes the explosion) pushing that button again returns it to the off setting

Question: Does the number sequence have to do with the Padovan Sequence?

Can this question get answered please?
Sorry Tattle , I don't know how I missed this question.
The answer is yes . Congratulations on noticing the clue, I thought everyone would assume I did not know how to spell Padawan

Is it an alphanumerical keypad?NO just 10 plain buttons in a line If so the sequence is 325984 DCLXVI 666 NO

Unless The Beast got downsized and now it's only plain old 66.

Is it an inverti Fibonacci sequence? Nope, just-answered that myself. Padovan sequence...hmm...Is my brain gonna hurt trying to solve this? Is it some geeky programmer math?
Now that is just a base insult. NO just sherlockx's warped way of looking at something very simple

Maybe look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Padovan_sequence (Thank you, Tattle ;) )

Which gave also a new idea for the '50 ways'

Question: Is this pointing to an album from Iron Maiden with the same name?
NO "Woe to you O earth and sea for Sherlockx sends the beast with math because he knows the time is short"
I actually prefer the lyrics of Pete Seeger " Where have all the right answers gone? Long time passing

As a free gift I will tell you that the answer has nothing to do with JEDI-Math

I know what a Padovan sequence is. Architect and programmer geek math are closely related.

OK, question: Is the sequence greater than the total number of keys?

Or are we beating ourselves silly and The Beast number is 8?

The question is not relevant to the answer you seek.Or as the saying goes you are barking up the wrong tree
The relevance of the Padovan sequence is in identifying one of the steps in obtaining the answer but it is not essential.
For once I am being helpful without being obtuse as you will realise if you ever work this one out or when you see the answer.

The Beast number is 8?
NO

Questions: Does the beast symbolize something?
To some people yes to others no, but is this the place to be discussing quantum metaphysics?

Is the beast a a real thing?
To some people yes to others no, but is this the place to be discussing quantum metaphysics?

Is the beast Guy? *dodges Guy's punch*
NO

Does the Rolls Royce have anything to do with the code that is entered on the security coded electric door?
NO

Is the answer 2, 2, 3, 5, 7, 37, 151?
NO
Ah Tattle I wondered when you were going to surface again
I suppose next you will be asking me how to make and use the seal of Solomon

Tattle, dearest friend, would you mind to mention what goes trough your head when you post a question? This might switch a clue in other's minds (mine) ;)

Question: is the number of the beast 666 and - another question - has one (me) any reason to feel stupid when thinking the solution to this riddle might have something to do with this, simply replacing the word 'WITCHCRAFT" with the word 'ROLLS ROYCE'... (Ten characters... Ten switches?!?)

Quote:
is the number of the beast 666
No, not in this riddle, although that is what appears in some copies of the Book of the Revelation of Saint John the Divine
Second question No but it is very ingenious
