Is there an updated map for Australia with speed limits showing, we are lately being used to seeing the speed limit all the time and all of a sudden igo8.3 came without speed limit, it seems a bit uncomfy, but not to complain when megaduck managed to atleast get us up to this much. Thanks again megaduck Cheers!

Its funny, everyone has been posting for the new map for months and when you finally get the new release its not as good as the previous.
I myself am reverting to the old R15 maps and old igo8.0. Everything worked as it was supposed to.
Thanks for the resources megaduck.
It's just a shame that the new map didn't reach our expectations.

I find that this release has less POI than the R15.

I couldn't even find IKEA in QLD (Slacks Creek).

Is it possible to use the old POI with this new map?

Yes it is.... I just renamed mine to AustraliaR15.poi and put it in the POI folder. iGO loads all of the poi files it finds...

I have been experimenting with this map for a little while. One thing that doesn't show on mine are the lane indicator boxes at the bottom of the screen. The boxes with indicator arrows with or without an X in them. Is this the case with this version of the map?

They show on mine, but much less than with the R15 maps. e.g travelling from Pakenham to Melbourne on the Monash (M1) I get lane indicators probaly 4 times with the 8.3 map where the R15 showed them for every exit (10+)

Thanks for the reply Megaduck. Given I live in a much smaller city than you (ACT) I guess therefore I don't have as many of these types of exits etc. Yes, my R15 does show them so will stick to the R15 when travelling on the 'ring road' when passing through Melb to Ballarat next week.

Hi Megaduck,

Have you had any response from TW yet about a new map version to fix the missing bits?

regards

Hi Megaduck, Dazza, Is there any news on the speed limit issue with the Igo8.3 maps! Another help I was enquiring was about resolution! Is there a way to force change my resolution on the program so I can load other resolutions on my 480x234 screen, there is hardly any skins available which I can use for my Gps unit. At the moment I am using Gurjon 6.4. which has an excellent feature of fuel calculation. Thanks for all your help. Great people, Great Country Australia.

Hi sorry for the stupid question but what do you rename the file from to AustraliaR15.poi and also when this is loaded isnt there going to be a problem with duplicate POI entries?
