Overview: Concern grows over the young boy known as River and the identity of his enigmatic benefactor is uncovered. Meanwhile, Grifter and Deathblow make a startling and deadly discovery while searching among the refugees – a trail of dead bodies reveals the presence of extremely unwelcome passengers aboard The Carrier.

Though civilization is in apocalyptic ruin, there's one stronghold where the residents live in relative safety. The vast fortress of Elmyria Fuhd has everything a prepubescent super-genius could ask for in a prison-slash-research-center: plentiful equipment; armed, obedient, gen-enhanced guards; hundreds of human slaves; and her zombies specimens (or "cutie-wooties"), to whom she feeds the slaves . Yet her research is stalled, until the next crop of undead captives includes the cutest little zombie she's ever seen! Oh, she simply must have this one bound, shackled and dressed for a little tea party!
