The Shadow Strikes by Gerard Jones

Overview: The Shadow has been adapted for the comics quite a few times, the first appearing in 1938 as a syndicated daily newspaper comic strip offered by the Ledger Syndicate. The strip's story continuity was written by Walter B. Gibson, with plot lines adapted from the Shadow pulps, and the strip was illustrated by Vernon Greene. Due to pulp paper shortages and the growing amount of space required for war news from the European and Pacific fronts, the strip was cancelled in 1942. The Shadow daily was collected decades later in two comic book series from two different publishers in 1988 and again in 1999.
