I have tried several devices but no luck so far. Most of them are going for 70 - 90 pounds (80% of the 'new' price!). I saw one that sold for the same as it would have cost the ebayer to buy it brand new! One guy was selling an HTC device starting the bidding at £40 when it could be purchased new for £49. It is crazy.
There are some cheaper ones but they have Android 1.5 and Basic4Android program requires 1.6 or newer. I guess Android is the new fad and everyone wants it. I think it will outsell iPhone as that is so very expensive.
If I cannot get one for a reasonable price I may have to postpone the project until there are cheaper devices available. If I find that is the case I will obviously return your donation with my thanks for your kindness, as the donations were intended to help with this Android project only.
I have been looking for devices that are:
1. Android 1.6 or newer (preferably 2.1 or 2.2)
2. Screen HVGA but I think QVGA will probably do as the emulator can help with differing screen sizes.
3. Pink colour (no, just joking about that!)
I still have some devices in my 'watch list' that I hope will come my way though!
But I have been gazumped once by a bidder that came from nowhere in the final seconds and took it from me.
