Applications on your home screen, mostly widgets
Sep 11th, 2010, 1:47 pm
LauncherPro Plus v0.7.8.1
Requirements: Android 2.0+
Overview: Based on the stock Android Launcher (Home app)
Image

Note: If you've installed LauncherPro from the market you'll have to uninstall that before installing this.

For all users:

* New: Ability to use custom icons and labels on homescreen shortcuts. Long-press on a homescreen and choose “Shortcuts”. After selecting the shortcut, you’ll get a popup with the icon and label for the shortcut. You can click on the icon to choose a custom icon from your gallery, and you can edit the label before adding the shortcut. This works with regular application shortcuts too, after choosing “Shortcuts”, choose “Applications” and you can create a custom shortcut to any application on your phone.

For Plus users only:

* Fixed a problem with the Twitter widget putting some mentions in the timeline view instead of the mentions view.
* New: Facebook Widget. It took a lot of work but the new Facebook widget is ready. It works very similarly to the Twitter widget. There’s two views: news feed and wall. You can switch between the two views with the buttons at the top, or use the “Compose” button to create a new post.

excellent homescreen app, probably the best.

twitter + facebook + calendar + messenging + contacts widgets, all neatly done and user friendly.

Having an issue with icons... >:/

Everytime I shut off my phone or restart LP all my icons go to the default droid icons

Pretty much all of them but a few... are replaced with that icon.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

@incredoid,

I have the same trouble and maybe we have the same cause due to App2SD. If you have that app installed and move applicable apps to your SD Card, automatically the icon reverts back.

I think he has lots to spare, probably some RSS widget, clock and weather, etc.

Looks to be fixed in the .1 release according to the website. Once I download it, I'll come back and let you know if it's good.

the creator of that app is fantastic. It was the first app I ever paid for on a phone. Still loving it!

Mine is fine on CM6 and installed to phone. Maybe you can try reinstalling or reset LauncherPro to defaults.
