How does google's nexus 7 rank among android devices? I'm new to android devices so I really don't know. Thanks in advance.

This is one of the best Android Tablets ever made.

I own one and I love it.

It is a great tablet but any, I repeat, ANY tablet that is less than 10" is not really a tablet. 7" is an e-reader, plain and simple. Sales of the Fire have dropped so fast it made people's heads spin. Why? Read the first two sentences as they explain it ;)

Same thing as people buying a 13" "laptop" - it is a netbook, get over it. This new "ultrabook" is just a new phrase for a more powerful netbook, nothing else.

Thanks guys
I heard some have been subject to faulty manufacturing. Should I wait for the next manufacturing run or should I just go get one now?

There is bound to be faulty thing with brand new devices.
Ever some of the first iPads were faulty.
I would wait a couple of months until they sort the troubles out.
I was actually playing about with one the other day and I'm very impressed with the nexus 7.
So impressed I've order one.

I agree that is the only bad point about the Nexus 7 in general, apart from that it's a very powerfull little tablet.

I have the Nexus 7, and I love it. The 7" factor means that it is very light and easy to hold in one hand while I swipe with the other--or play a game horizontally using thumbs to control. I've had none of those reported problems--it's perfect. The only thing I don't like is no SD card, but I can use Google Drive and Windows Skydrive, and I've read that some people are rooting it and using the mini-usb to connect to flash drives and such. I guess it comes down to whether you want a 10" or 7. If you want a 7, this is the one to get.

I have one and it's just ok. The OS isn't nearly as fluid as ICS in my opinion. Scrolling pages is sluggish. Well, sluggish isn't the word I want to use but on ICS, scrolling flows but on the Nexus 7, it moves as if it doesn't really want to. I do like the glass which seems to resist fingerprints and I like Google Now which I think is better than the existing Siri on Iphone. And the battery seems to hold up pretty well. But this tablet is missing something tangible to make it a player that can compete with the best selling android tablet, Amazon Fire. I have a rooted 32 gig HP Touchpad running ICS and it doesn't even touch it. Well, the camera on the Touchpad still doesn't work but XDA is still a work in progress.
All and all, if you have 200 bucks just sitting and you don't have to have it, save your money for maybe the Nexus II. Its not the worse you could buy but you could do better. Seriously.

I was somebody who was extremely resistant to the idea of a 7 inch tab but now I am liking it mainly coz it gives me great portabilty.

You can use an OTG cable to attach any USB storage device to access movies etc.

I am typing this from my Nexus 7. You can not get better bang for your buck. The tablet is great, very speedy, supports more apps than most other droid tabs, and has a nice high res screen.

Isn't the LG Optimus G Nexus a smartphone rather than a tablet?
