I re-read all of your posts. So, the problem is, the AVD Manager crashes when you want to start up an emulator? What is the error message? What Windows you use?

What resolution have you chosen in emulator? Apparently QVGA-L crashes (I have CHOSEN Skin : HVGA)
Details here : http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=1533

You can also try this solution taken from the above link:
Code: Select all"Comment 10 by pierre.g...@gmail.com, Mar 13, 2011
Here is a workaround that worked for me (just more details regarding the previous post of Feb 5, 2011).
- start eclipse
- in the menubar: Windows -> Android SDK and AVD Manager
- select your crashing emulator virtual device (Android-2.x), and press Edit
- press "New" in the hardware section
- select "Audio recording support", set its value to "No"
- go back, and start the emulator"

Hope that fixes the issue

I even got API Level 10 had to set it to QVGA to get it to load

I get you can not use this device when another video application, such as DVD,video conferencing, video editing, TV viewers, or WebTV for Windows is already using it. To use this device for your current application, Close the application that is using it.

I don't have anything running

but when I click ok it takes me to a screen "capture source" only one device in there I hit ok and everything runs smooth I don't know what that is all about but I am so glad it works going to try all the API's to see if they work

Thanks for the links However the libraries are old 2011 libs which was available in 1.7 so even if you install this 1.8 version, it would be of little use without the extra modules and updated new libaries (Like Push Notification, NFC, SIP/VOIP, USB HOST and accessories etc). If you want code obfuscation urgently, may be you can install this version else wait for someone to release the new libs 8) . Or if you can afford, register at the forum and you will get a new member 50% discount on 1.8 Enterprise email within a few days.
