Hi
I'm new to this forum, but need help on b4a.
I downloaded and installed v1.7 including the k*gen as posted here but have problem.
When I include any other library then core lib (v1.67) and want to save file I worked on, I got error:

Error saving file! File may be corrupted. Try save again!
Its recommended to save file ....
Configuration Error!

I tried to uninstall b4a (using procedure from here), cleanup registers then install again. It always pull old settings (paths) and got same error.
Also I installed ZoneAlarm to disable internet connection for b4a with no luck!
BTW, I can compile (including the other lib) but cannot save my work!

Any idea how can go around this error???
Thanks in advance!

In an older post i said that u should cut the internet connection with a firewall ( i recommend Comodo ) but just today i had the GREAT idea to use a virtual machine ( look for virtual box on google , it's free to use ). i installed a fresh win xp inside virtual box but i cut all connections of the virtual machine and surprise : i was able to save my work :) . try it . if u have more questions about how to make a virtual machine using virtual box write on this forum and i'll try to get back to u.

You are using a key that has been blacklisted and that is why Basic4android keeps overwriting your code.
1.Go to c:\Documents and Settings\[your username here]\Application Data\Anywhere Software\Basic4android\
2.Delete all files in the folder.
3.Uninstall Basic4android
4.Delete Basic4android folder in program files

Install the V1.70 posted here http://cyberwarez.info/forum/threads/an ... id.130024/

Use this keygen http://www.ziddu.com/download/18155652/ ... a.rar.html

Good Luck :)

This worked in the past... the keygen should do the trick

and u will be using the new key until it gets blacklisted and again and again and again. The only way to use it for ever is to not allow b4a to get a internet connection. Otherwise u will end up writing hundreds of line codes and not be able to save your work.

Pretty much that's what I did:
1. I used k*gen
2. restored delete.txt file so it will register again
3. started b4a and registered
4. deleted delete.txt file

Now it's working! We'll see how long. ;)
Have to see how it will work. If fine, I'll participate in the purchase!

While I admit that a lot of Android app looks great and 'feels' good I have serious doubts that anything useful can be efficiently created with this Basic4Android.

Compared to its GREAT and VERY USEFUL father Basic4PPC this new product sucks royally in all aspects.
It is a bitch to install, slow as molasses in wintertime in emulating anything, clumsy interface, irrational menus, weird methods and dependencies.
Windows and Android do not match well, and this tool shows it.
I decided to stop developing anything for Android with it. With B4PPC one could develop apps in days, graphics, database, even RS232 control, it was real fun. Debugging was a jiffy, you could develop and change code ON THE DEVICE itself, restart it in seconds...

Now I just wonder what the professional Android coders use to make their nifty stuff?
I still want to create a financial software package (for myself) as I did for many other platforms, just what is the best SDK to use for it, Basic4Android it is NOT?!

Facts, arguments, real experiences? You think that a lot of the current Android stuff is created with Basic4Android?? And you think that it is en par with Basic4PPC?? You used and compared both????

I have made enough money as a statistician and programmer to retire at age 45, several years ago.
So I think I DO know a little bit about operating systems, software design and what is (not) useful or efficient.

This topic is about Basic4Android, all I wanted to hear is what ALTERNATIVES the REAL programmers use today, considering the poor state of this app at this time.
Android is not my favorite paltform and I am just tinkering with it to learn more about it.

Soulwarrior has bought the 1.8 enterprise version Unfortunately he hasn't been seen on the forum since. I have asked for BAdoclet.zip file which is used for developing custom libs by PM - haven't got any reply.

For games the best choice is unity3D; for apps, there seems to be no software better than Basic4Android.You can try Marmalade SDK. But beyond what B4A can do, you may have to learn native java
