SuperSU allows for advanced management of Superuser access rights for all the apps on your device that need root. SuperSU has been built from the ground up to counter a number of problems with other Superuser access management tools.

SUPERUSER
This is meant to replace Superuser (if installed), you use either one or the other. You cannot combine them. Statements that this breaks Superuser are therefore completely nonsensical.

NOTICE: A SPECIAL PROCEDURE IS NEEDED FOR UNINSTALLATION. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THE APP, DO *NOT* JUST UNINSTALL IT, YOU *WILL* LOSE ROOT.
Superuser access management runs through a so called "su binary". There can be only one of these at a time. So if you install SuperSU, your previous superuser access management solution will no longer operate. So if you want to switch back: (1) Open that application, and search for an option for it to install/update/replace the "su binary". (2) Confirm root-using apps are using the superuser solution you want. (3) Uninstall SuperSU.

Be careful, a lot of people are losing their root status after update to this version myself included. I have to reflash older version to get back my root .

Me Too, i lost my root after flashing with this version..
I had to reflash & back to version 2.79

Besides a lot of new permissions with no reason to be, the new update is causing a lot of problems, thanks but no thanks.

This version not ready for prime time.

for all who get update information (2.79 to 2.80) from PlayStore:

1. download SR3-SuperSU-v2.79-SR3-20170114223742.zip from https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133 and flash it, so you will get systemless root for your device
2. extract the Superuser.apk from the zip (look at the /common folder)
3. resign the apk
4. uninstall SuperSU 2.79.apk
4. install the resigned SuperSU SR3 2.79.apk

The update information is gone!

2nd method:
just kill the GooglePlay shortcut for this apk with Titanium Backup
But remember: after each reboot you have to do this again!
