Why is the 3.9.0 apk so small? Looks like malware. Uploaded by a poster with 1 post. Will not play the guinea pig and install it.

The package contains the license only.
Look in market, then you'll see.

Of course I don't know whether this release is legit, but I guess it is.
EDIT: v3.9.0 license works! Advice: Don't install the new v3.8.5beta - it doesn't work anymore after a reboot.

Still 3.8.0 after installing atop of 3.8.0 ...
At least it's shown as version 3.9.0 in "Manage Applications" ...

It's just a licence, so difference should be visable in case of appling this file to upcoming 3.9.0.

Don't install its spam, when in installed, instead of juicedefender it installed 'Messenger with you'. Crapware, uninstalled.

Installed over 3.8 Ultimate. Afterwards, in the About screen of the app, it still shows Ultimate 3.8.
Uninstalled 3.8 completely, installed Ultimate 3.9, followed by regular installation of free edition from Market and it still shows 3.8.

The only place it shows 3.9 is when managing the applications on the device.
