Yeah I just added those two big season entries to my database and it worked. I had to get root again cause the tablet just updated to 4.3 but fortunately everything went quite well.

Yeah, for people new to this thread, you will find all the information you need if you read back a few pages. You do need root but all the codes to unlock the tables are listed in here somewhere. . .

Hi everybody I had an idea that might be great. Having a lot of friends that are absolutely not at ease when it comes to rooting your phone and using SQL queries, and obviously some guys around here are having the same problem, I was wondering if there might be a much easier way to get all the tables for free. The apk that brings the T2 table is the one that actually gave me the idea. Would there be a way to create an apk that would just copy a database file in the right folder? So no more need to root your device, no more strange looking SQL queries to type in for the noobs. I think it might be possible, but hey I'm a noob in the java dev world so I might be wrong as Tom Yorke would say.

So far I managed to get a lot of android dev litterature but I'm actually drowning into it. I know very little basics about dev and java is very different of what I've seen and used until then. I know I need the android SDK (got it and installed it, works flawless). I know I need to setup permissions so the database file would be copied into the right folder. I know I need a java command (that I think might be quite simple) to say copy that there. Last but not least I know I need to sign the apk with a valid android key, and I yet I haven't found how to do that, but I'm on my way to do so. I know I still have quite a lot of work to do before my apk gets done, it would be great if someone who knows all that could give me some guidance.

I've got two questions. First, in the case I'm not wrong would this method be a blessing or an huge curse? Let me explain: if I manage to create the apk (it's not done yet and might never be), I put all this on the internet, such an easy way to crack pinball arcade might hurt farsight more that I would like. I love pinball arcade and I'm willing to pay the full price for it, but being unemployed at the moment I just can't pay for it. When I will have the money I will be more than happy to pay for it, I love the app and it's absolutely fair that farsight get money for all their great work. So my apk gets unleashed, eventually has such a huge success It hurts the farsight sales badly. What would happen? Would farsight get bankrupted? I wouldn't like that at all, my karma neither. Would they change the way the tables you're supposed to pay for are managed in a very hardcore way so we're all fucked in the future? See what I mean? The relatively hard way we had until now to get the tables is good cause just a few people have the will to do it, so we must be low under farsight radars. That is a good thing for us cause in the very probable case they are aware of what we do they surely might consider us too small to hurt them, so they won't put money to change the way their app works, the cost would be too great for too little results. My little project could change all that dramatically if it came to life. Would my idea be pure genius or absolute evil? Is there a way to get around the fact farsight might get hurt? Like for example creating only one apk for the 16.0.0 or the next one and never update it, so anyone could easily have lots of nice tables and yet at some point need to put some bucks in to get whatever would come later? This might finally be a good thing for farsight, the more nice tables you get, the more you want, it would tease potential buyers more than just two free tables don't you think? Is it possible to crack an app in some kind of almost ethic way? All of that is cracking my skull right now so: what is your opinion people?

My second question is would someone be ready to help me? I don't intend to make him do anything except giving me excellent advices. I'd like to make the whole journey myself but I'm a paddawan so any help from an android SDK Jedi master would be greatly appreciated. Is there someone here with that background willing to do that?

Now you know everything, let me know what you think about it.

Thanks for your input bicsko but I'm already aware of the fact that noobs absolutely love easy solutions with no risks. I'm looking for far more elaborated answers. Don't take it the bad way, it's nice to answer, but I'm just not looking for this kind of input and would appreciate if there was no more of this and more answers to my real questions.

Well in fact the thread is quite clear about what is to be done, I did what was said and everything went well. I guess it might be a good thing to have a post that clearly says what needs to be done, step by step. So here it is:

1 - root your device (if you don't know how to do that remember that google is your friend and will help you if you tell him what you're looking for in a precise way. So if you've got a galaxy sII type in: galaxy sII rooting tutorial. Then pay attention and follow what is said)

2 - your device being rooted you need to install an app to edit the pinball arcade SQL database. Personnally I use SQLite database editor, found in the google market for free.

3 - when the app to edit the database is installed you need to launch it, it should scan your device and list all the databases available. You should have a dialog box asking you if you want to give the SQL editor root access, the correct answer is yes. Otherwise it won't find anything.

4 - the databases on your device being listed you need to select the good one that is pinballArcade.db, doing so you open it. Then should be listed the three tables the database contains (SQL tables, not pinball arcade tables). Select the one called purchased. Then select "query editor".

5 - Now, the best part, you need to type in SQL queries. Don't be afraid all you need to do is to type in the exact same way it is written down there, take a real good look at it:

insert into [purchased] ( _id , quantity ) values ( ' four_pack ' , ' 1 ' )

This is a generic example, see the post of superpfpf? For each line a query. How fun is that? If the query is done correctly it looks like nothing happened. If you got an error message someting is wrong and you clearly don't pay enough attention to what is explained to you.

In fact not all the line in the superpfpf post should be "queried". With the couples

"season_pack_1_pro","1"
and
"season_pack_2_pro","1"

you've got enough to have all the tables released until now and some more later that have not yet been released. If you want the balls pack you need to enter the couples referring to them, the same for the movie. I let you find them by yourself in the list as it's quite simple.

If it's not clear enough and you can't go through all this it means you're on your own cause I can't give you a clearer tutorial and I think no one can. Then I guess your best option is to pay for the tables you want. Or read better...

with this editor, you can export sqlite tabeles, but before you can edit the databese, you have to copy it to the sd-card

Here is a nice news for all the noobs and the "I know how to read but can't process it correctly" guys, I managed to create an unlocked pinball arcade 1.16.0. The file has been created by myself with the essential guidance from "an angel fallen from the sky at just the right time" that sent me all the info I needed, a work based on an analysis of Hucz's previous work he did. To be perfectly honest I didn't even use my brain to do that, I just litteraly followed all the steps this amazing angel sent me and it worked, you can imagine the quality of the info I was provided. I couldn't have dreamed of that, yet it happened. So I owe Hucz and this anonymous helper an huge thank you, and you owe them too my dear "just can't get it right even if it's quite clear" friends, without them it wouldn't have been possible to release that so soon, it may even have never been released.

The file will install the proper database file containing all tables for the 1.16.0 version, plus all ball packs. No need to root your device, no funky SQL queries to type in, but also no beta T2 table included and no data files provided. Don't ask me for those files, I won't provide anything more.

As you don't get this apk from the google store it will never get updated. This means you'll get stuck with this cracked version of pinball arcade until another version is cracked by a gentle unethical soul. In a simple word: until then, no new table. Let me be perfectly clear: maybe I will crack another one, maybe not, it's entirely up to me so no need to ask, any request of this kind will be ignored, all trespassors will get nipple-clamped on the spot. Got it?

Doing some research I noticed some sites seemed to provide their own cracked 1.16.0 apk, although the comments regarding those files are quite troubling. Don't know what those files are worth all I can tell you is: this one is perfectly fine. The permissions the app will ask are exactly the same as the official one and I can guarantee you it hasn't been tampered in any way: it's 100% safe. I tested it personally and it worked fine. I just modded a small file that is not related to the app core, in other words I didn't break the app in any way, it's exactly the same as the official one, except this one is socialist. This doesn't mean it will forward your hiscores to the Kremlin on the spot :).

So here is the download link, enjoy:

http://rapidshare.com/files/3419066262/PinballArcade_1.16.0Full.apk

In the very probable case the file gets deleted by rapidshare, the name being a little bit too explicit, just send me a PM and I'll upload it again.

PS: Someone was kind enough to donate me wrz$, but to be honnest I don't feel like I earned it. I don't know what to do with that, so please keep your wrz$ for yourself. If you feel like you really need to reward me then the hand of your young and pretty daughter, a sport car with leather seat or an i7 will perfectly do the trick as I know what do with those. Otherwise the download count from rapidshare rewards me pretty well ;)
