Microsoft ActiveSync v4.5 Portable FINAL
Requirements: A usb stick and a windows pc (with usb..)
Overview: (portabilized (took me ages) and uploaded by me). For those still ignorant, portable appz are appz to be run from usb stick and do not require installation. Annoyed of not being able to use active sync on other pc with user restictions (like at school)? Here is the solution.

Fully working activesync 4.5 FOR ME. PLEASE TEST
(not beta just found the pic)

This is my final version, tested/working on 2 computers. How i hate microsoft for all their twisted function calls and manifests. Anyway if it doesn't work 4 u please reply to this post or pm me.

More Info:
Code:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/activesync/activesync45.mspx

Download Instructions: Download
 Dowload From Rapidshare
or
Download From Megaupload

Enjoy ;)

I dont mind you posting this on other forums but plz give credit 2 me cos ive spend so long on it.

Special thanks to Cactus and LZF who did the beta testing and made it possible for me to make this final release

Note: This is not a "proper" portable version, it leaves traces on host computer. If you want to delete traces browse to Documents and Settings/App Data/Thinstall. Otherwise This works with no installation on guest accounts. To stop application, as activesync doesnt have an exit button, you will need to use task manager to end process wcescomm.exe
Or simply log off.

Very interesting, but you ned to staticaly link MFC80 dlls otherwise you will not be able to run this on a computer which doesn't have this mfc installed, which kind of defeat the point.

You can try on a computer without mfc 8 dlls to check.

I will surely try a new version if you provide one.
Thanks

Same here!

I would *love* a solution like this, this would solve my problems with my Dual Session MCE computer.

Thanks for the efford, hope to see a version with solves the MFC80.DLL problem.

Cheers,
Cacti

Edit:
When placing a MCF80.DLL in the system32 folder, it needs msvcr80.dll. If you put that file in the system32 folder it error's it can't find an entry point from procedure ?_type_info_dtor_internal_method@type_info@@QAEXXZ

So what I understand is that this isn't working. A portable application should work without installing anything.

Actually you can just as well install the standard Activesync.

This topic will be closed and moved to the Recycle Bin in a couple of hours.

Having to install xp on a virtual machine (very slow) so that there is no interference with the "compacting" of this app with so many drivers involved.
