ContactManager v0.11 (Freeware)
Requirements: WM5/WM6 and .NET framework 2.0
Overview: Contact manager is a finger friendly contact application for PDA phone, it will allow you to scroll to you list of contacts, call them and edit them.
Image
Features:
It can be used with fingers, no need to get your stylus. Finding contact with your finger is really easy, it's different than other software: if you press you finger on the left or right border of the screen it will allow you to select the letter you're searching for, release the finger, it will show you the contact starting with this letter. Why does it work? Human being cannot point directly to the right letter on a small screen, however human are very precise while moving their finger. So you press the screen, see the feedback, adjust the position to the right letter... and you're done!

It's animated: the list scroll with your finger in a natural movement, the transition between contact detail and contact list are animated.

You can set contact as favorites, they will appear in the favorite list, perfect to get a quicklist of contacts under the finger.

You can edit your contact picture from the software, simply tap on the contact picture.

You can customize about everything by changing the setting.ini: color, font, background image, etc...

Download Instructions: To install, copy the unzipped file to your ppc and run it, also you can modify the settings.ini file by adding or removing the "#" to customize

No, there is no version for WM2003 :( .

I installed v0.11 on my HTC P3300 (WM5), works great. Download it at the developers site for free.

This is an essential for PPC imo.

At the site of the developer there is a hint for changing the registry, I copied it below:

How to add this application as the default contact manager?
You can do it by hand:
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:M SCONTACTS
- Change "String 1" value from :MSPOUTLOOK contacts to "\Program Files\ContactManager\ContactManager.exe".
- Make sure that you add the "" on the new entry.

I have a Dutch WM5 version, and i had to change "Program Files" tot "Programmabestanden". The error that I got after installing the CAB file vanished. I suspect your problem is similar.

Good luck.

Indeed, cab usage is mentioned at the dev's site. So I used the cab version, but it's made for English OS. Other languages need to be manually adjusted with a reg editor :?.

Take the *.zip-version, copy the unzipped folder to your storage card and replace the entries in your registry by hand, to make ContactMangaer as your default Application for contacts.

How to add this application as the default contact manager?
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:M SCONTACTS
- Change "String 1" value from :MSPOUTLOOK contacts to "\your path\ContactManager\ContactManager.exe".
- Make sure that you add the "" on the new entry.

At the developers website you can also find a downloadable "lang.*.ini"-file for your language, or create your own language "lang.*.ini"-file.
Code:
How to use localization??
Copy "lang.fr.ini", adapt the file to your need (or download it from here), change "fr" to your PDA country ISO name. (fr for France, es for Spain, de for Germany, etc...).

If you also want to use Microsoft Contacts:
Create a shortcut in your "start menu - program"-folder, join the shortcut to ":MS CONTACTS", name the shortcut as you want. The only bad thing: you can't choose an icon.

Hallo
Here my modified Skin for the ContactManager.
In my .rar packed you would found the install .cab for Version 0.11, the registry key for "add this application as a softkey" and the themeskin images.

INSTALLATION:
Install the .cab and putt all files from .rar in the install path folder.
If you use my softkey .reg file, change the path if you install contactmanager on a other place:
eg. "Open"="\\Programme\\ContactManager\\ContactManager.exe" or "Open"="\\Program Files\\ContactManager\\ContactManager.exe"
If you didn't know the german translation .ini file you can delete it, I modified btw. some variables, for better reading on my HTC.
