Huh? What readme? Just remove what ever you got there and get the .ipk in first post, install using preware.

Anyone else having a problem opening .ipk files? I don't know if it's because I've got Filemgr and Internalz installed, but it doesn't do anything when I try to open them.

I think you are going to have to install it with WQSI

I uninstalled it and then re-installed the ipk with WQSI. It still won't let me open ipk from within Gemini File Manager – it can do everything else. No one else is having this problem?

I don't think Gemini supports installing .ipk packages.

So install Preware with webOS Quick Installer. Use Preware to install .ipk's.
Once you get Preware, from it, you can install install Internalz Pro which is another file manager that can install ipk's.

i'm having a different problem with it, some of the directories are not showing up. they show up in internalz but don't show up in gemini. directories for the applications folder, for example. Anyone else having this issue? Is it like windows where you have to select a setting somewhere to show hidden/system files?

Internalz is just like what it's called.
It goes beyond normal folders, shows the internals of all the folders.
Gemini, is just a basic noob friendly file manager app.
