Wonder is someone can help me.
With original igo8 skin all is Ok with navigation.
When i use GJ 5.5 ( or any other third party skin ) i get "OUT OF MEMORY" after navigating for a while.
I know the software is going to crash as the roads disappear or draw very slowly ahead of the navigation arror.
Does anyone else have this problem ?
Is a fix available via "SYS" text ?
Thank you for any replies.

First of all, try this:
nicknova wrote:For all people who still have "Out of memory" errors when using Dimka's or Gurjon's skins, try to uncheck "Animate text" or "Scrolling street name" option from Settings/Screen Settings.

If this doesn't help, please give us more details about your device (e.g. model, OS, free RAM) and configuration (e.g. iGO version, installed on device / SD-Card ?, are you using TTS ?, post your sys.txt file)

Thank you for your reply.

Animated text / street scrolling is diabled.
I am using Navgo SY885 PNA with windows CE 5.0 and 64 meg internal memory ( not sure how much is free ).
It has a 4 gb sdhc memory card with Igo8 .. 8.3.2 on it.
This is my SYS text,

Hope this helps you to help me.
With older versions of igo i had no problems at all, its only the latest version that has problems ( out of memory ).
I know when igo is going to crash as the roads do not show/ or fail to load fast enough ahead in navigation, its as if the arrow is catching up to the drawing of the roads ahead if you know what i mean.

Edit1: just saw your post as I was typinig this. Remove the cache=... It is way too high. Put a ; in
front of the line.

Edit2: for all people changing thinks in SYS.TXT: don't forget to check the Save\System.ini file
(also delete the Save\IMGR.PRL if you play with custom poi icons every time you add/remove poi icons)

About out of memory problems:

Sometimes it helps to modify your SYS.TXT with these values:

Trick1
[debug]
raster_quality=1 ;(2)
reserve_memory=2097152 ;(0) default 4Mb, don't use less that 1Mb

Reserve_memory is what iGo8 leaves to your system to function. If you have
a PNA it usualy can be much lower, thus giving iGo8 more memory to work.

Trick2
You can also try to unpack the skin file and copy it to the iG08 folder.
This trick worked way back to the 2006 version.

So unpack the ui_igo8 folder from the zip file to the iGo8 main folder.
This will work. But you must select the default skin. iGo will pick up
the files in the ui_igo8 folder as it are native files. You cannot use
the skin mechanism anymore, but it save a little extra memory.

You can do this for any folder from data.zip. I do it for audio files, backgrounds,
custom brand icons and and customized ui files.
The folder name and structure must be exactly the same as in the data.zip.

Cheers

Can you please let me know one thing. Which version from your first post is the one that will support TTS. I tried Sep25, Nov13 and Nov13 TTS Fixed but none of them worked for TTS. When I select Dave or Susan [whose names show TTS], even the prompt like Turn in .5 miles etc wouldn't appear. Is there anything i m missing ?

MY DEVICE IS NAVIGON 7100.
THE NON-TTS VOICES WORK FINE

Hi All

Can't get this to work at all on my I-Mate PDA-N..

Installed etc to mem card... Start it up but after a few seconds on startup screen it closes to ppc's today screen. But oddly it's still running in back ground... Have tried to just open it from there but doesn't so then have to use a taskmanager to close it down...

Am very keen to get it running and see why everyone pefers it to TomTom so any help would be welcome...

regards
Lohtse

I am getting the "Out of memory" when navigating in cities with many buildings.
I am using Loox N560 WM6 and 32MB free RAM.
My iGO8 is installed on my SD card (4GB regular SD not SDHC).
I did not have this problem before when I was using iGO6.
The version I am using is 8.3.2.64873 and my SYS.TXT is:

i have tried the dimka skin which allows you to point the bluetooth button to any location so i tried pointing it to my smart st phone software(miobt) but no luck
i tried downloading the old miobt with anwdog still no luck
finally i tried phone link from the navigon software still no luck

With the Nav N Go iGO v8.3.1.57021 (Sep 25 2008) + Full EU 2008.7 map version,
i have always a gps signal.

This version below:

Image

Nav N Go iGO 8
8.3.2.64873
Nov 13 2008

Works fine, but when i set off the GPS, the next time when setting device on: NO GPS SIGNAL.
(AUTO gps settings gives no solution for a gps signal)

I work with a Mio Moov 330 Europe.

What can i do to have ALWAYS a gps signal with this 8.3.2.64873 version?
