Thank you tweakradje for your instant reply. I will check this now. However, why TTS is not getting work for me :( When I am selecting a TTS voice, iGo8 just stops speaking at all. With non-TTS voices, it does speak like "Prepare to turn in .5 miles", "Turn Left now" etc. What is wrong ? Can someone upload only contents of iGo with TTS already enabled ??

I know my issue where the backlight doesn't come back on after powering off then on the Mio c310x isn't Igo8's fault (it's something with the stupid unlock I installed) but if there's a way to force Igo8 to constantly be at 100% brightness even if in battery mode, back from suspend mode, whatever, maybe it can help fix my ongoing problem.

The problem is seriously making an otherwise awesome GPS (thanks to you guys) a pain to use.

Do you have the "Power Management" option under Settings, Device? You should be able to choose "Backlight Always On"

Error loading file: i18n/ naviextras.xhtml

Thats because you use the language files from the pna version, you need the pda version. Look at my screenshot. When you have done that you need to write this in your sys.txt file, otherwise you get a error when you try to load igo.

[project]
name="igo8_pda"

Does that mean it it safe to update the program through the internet and connect the device to the naviextras portal ?

I don't think it'll work, as Naviextras knows whether or not you have an original SD Card from Nav N Go. But you can try and it shouldn't hurt anything.

I kept getting
"Please insert SD card"
with this version so I added:
[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"

Then I kept getting:
Failed to open file:
igo\240_320\loading.bmp
exiting application.

What do I do?

try adding this to your sys.txt:

name="igo8_pda"

Try to add to sys.txt following.
[interface]
skin="ui_igo8"

------
if not working delete your sys.txt (back it up before) and start IGO without sys.txt

Hi!

I'm new to this forum.
I had a question about iGO.
I have downloaded the first complete pack back at page one (Post: #2)
I have now 8.3.1.57021 (Sep 25) installed. Everything works fine except the speedcams.
Now my question, what files should I download for the latest version of iGO with working speedcams?
Also, are there any Swedish TTS files?
Thanks in advance.

Nice one. Can you also modify the TTS for French voices !?

Hum, the import of contacts is not working. :?

Follow these steps:
  1. Download Nav N Go iGO 8 v8.3.2.64029 (Nov 7 2008) - R3 PDA version.
  2. Backup your Nov13 (iGO8 v8.3.2.64873) "iGO8.exe" file.
  3. Copy the downloaded Nov7 "application.dat" file, and rename it to "iGO8.exe" (make sure you can see file extensions, otherwise you will mistakenly get "iGO8.exe.dat" file) (if you had installed iGO, then replace both the "iGO8.exe" file on your SD-Card and the one on your device's "Program Files\iGO8" folder).
  4. Start iGO. Loading should take awhile, while iGO is importing your contacts.
  5. Once done, close iGO.
  6. Replace your Nov7 "iGO8.exe" with your backed up Nov13 "iGO.exe" (if you had installed iGO, then replace both the "iGO8.exe" file on your SD-Card and the one on your device's "Program Files\iGO8" folder).

Note:
Of cousre, any new contacts that you'll add to your device will not be synchronized with iGO8, nor deleted contacts would be deleted from iGO8, and vice versa.
Each time you'll want to synchronize contacts, you will have to repeate this procedure.
