iGO content on SGS2 external_sd (theoreticallly ANY DIRECTORY) (root not required !!!)

0. uninstall previous iGo installation
1. edit SYS.TXT in installation APK (igo my way android 8.4.3.179971.apk:\res\raw\sys.txt) (use totalcommander or winzip)
2. change linked_root_list="^%$@^ blah blah #$!&^@$#%!^# " to linked_root_list="/mnt/sdcard/external_sd/iGO"
3. sign this modified APK with util for Gameloft games "auto_patch_apk_for_samsung_by_duero_include_java.exe" (or use some signer)
4. install iGo (use new signed APK)

I was able to find duero's tool through a google search which landed me on mediafire. I was able to get TTS to work by following the instructions BUT it will not work with any of the skins. I had to do a plain ol'd install of 179971, nothing else. Woulld love to get the skins to work.

I have iGo 8 working on my SGS2... however I like to find out if anyone know of a way to use Ivona as the TTS. I see there is a "fix" for Loquendo TTS. I prefer my sexy Ivona.

It's in there already.
Go to settings, input, and select the Hebrew keyboard.
I think it's called מקשים or simply Hebrew.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace, first off, it works a treat, you have to uninstall previous versions of iGo for a new one to install, then copy both licence files as u cant have too many!! also, best operated in landscape mode, so u dont have any text missing. Only thing bugging me is the TTS (like everyone else).

I install the loquendo TTS and copy the TTs folder to the SD root and copy the zip folder to voices folder and extract. Start the TTS app, change the voice speech option to navigation. But, when i go to text to speech settings under voice input, the loquendo option isnt under default engine. I launch iGo and select the TTS voice, that says woteva its says when u select it, it navigates. but doesnt speak street names.

Anyone got any ideas/tips??

I do not have an external sd card, only 16gb internal. I have alrady copied the license folder to the iGO folder

I receive the following error when I install the Thin version as described;

"Program application database cannot be found."

data.gro is in iGO folder under /sdcard

What might be the reason for this?

I had 139242 installed and worked perfectly for over a year.
I downloaded 179971 from here and installed 480x320 version for my Samsung I5700 Galacxy Spica.
First uninstall old one and remove license dir from SD card then installed new one and copy new license dir to iGO dir.

Now when I start iGO, I choose language and splash screen shows but when progres bar is near end screen is starting to flicker .
Only way to stop that behaviour is to kill iGO
