This version won't work with Australia R15 it said the map was out date please contact dealer . Heck is there newer version of Australia map ???

Doubt it. WhereIs/Sensis are not known to update their maps all that quickly (Annual updates at best). Given that R15 was only released 6 months ago, we need to wait a bit longer...

As an interesting aside it was announced yesterday by Sensis that the Yellow Pages website, owned and run by Sensis, would no longer use their own search engine or whereis maps. As of the next website refresh the site will use the Google search engine AND Google maps!

The Age Article

No idea if this affects the maps we use...

Hi:
THANKS so much for this! Sorry to be a pest, but is there any chance for mirrors, or one large file? Rapidshare will only allow me to download one section per day, then says my limit is up :(

Thanks again!

Yeah, that's a pain. But in reality, if you read closely, you only have to wait 15 minutes between each download. It does take a while, but you can eventually get everything in one day.

I'm not convinced the Navteq maps are any better than TeleAtlas. In particular, on my street the addresses are all wrong, and now my house shows about 1/4 mile further down the road. I tried a route between my home and my office, and the route was NOT the way I would normally go...I had to force the software to my route by selecting waypoints. The 8.0.0.54000 software with 2008.1 maps selected my preferred route right off the bat without any manipulation.

Also, I've browsed through the POIs for my area and find that many are missing compared to the 2008.1, as expected given that there are only about half. Unfortunately, some of the ones missing I use, like my local bank branch.

And no, I couldn't get the 2008.1 POI files to work with the new maps.

(and that's not to mention the usual exit/resume problem that plagues all new releases and the fact that there is no dimka skin yet :) ...but that's fodder for another forum board)

Yes, I figured that out, but even if you wait between downloads, there is a limit, of just a few files per day (at least that is what I have found in the past). I was able to download one part last night, and hopefully will be able to download another part today (if it finishes before I have to leave for work), besides the delay between downloads, rapidshare also cripples speeds if you don't have a premium account, so it is taking me about 2+ hours per part, and that is on 10mps connection. I will keep doing one per day if I have to (since I can only spend a couple hours a day on the pc, and don't have one at work). Believe me, I didn't want to seem ungrateful, because I am very grateful!! I was just hoping to get everything downloaded this week.
Anyway, thanks again!

I'm using cryptload (cryptload.info). Works very well with rapidshare. I load all the links and it downloads all over night.

It's the old 01.2008 map.
No Q2.2008 Israel map compatible with 8.3.x iGo?

Thanks for the tip. I went to that site, and for some reason it opened a BIG popup ad, which made me unable to see the page. There was no way to close the ad, or move it

More map observations. It seems that this map has many updates for my area. There have been a number intersection realignments in my area and this map has them all, whereas the TA 2008.1 maps did not (even many years after the realignments occurred).

Unfortunately, as I've stated before, the POIs leave something to be desired. Neither of the two closest Wal-Marts showed up in a POI search, nor any of the nearby development that has been finished for some time. If anyone can figure out how to incorporate the older, more abundant POI files into the newer program, they would be considered a genius.

This is disturbing to hear :(
On the program thread, I saw a post that stated that the old POIs could still be used with these maps. Is that inaccurate?
Thanks!

PS: You don't happen to have a mirror for these maps, do you?
