after much confusion I have figured out that I have to install IGO8 software on my Ipaq 310 to use the map that I downloaded. I don't really want to change the Nav software on my GPS. Does anyone have a North Carolina map newer then 2006 that I can just drop in my maps folder without making software changes to my Ipaq?

Is there a way to convert the download I already have to the Ipaq format?

Please help me if you know a work around for this. North Carolina has a good many new roads and housing developments that aren't on the HP maps that I have at this time.

Tony

If you don't change your software , you won't be able to use any of the maps posted on this forum...ever. The reason is that Igo is protected with a map license and SD card licensing. You will only be able to use legitimate bought maps and licenses.
If you install the software posted here, which comes with a patched IGO.EXE file, DATA.zip file, and license file, then you can use all the wonderful stuff you see here.
B4 installing the software make sure to search the forum for a version that suits your device!

Thanks, Big 10. I have searched the forum and I can't find which IGO.EXE file I need for the Ipaq 310. Non of the downloads come out and say use this for the Ipaq 310. Is my GPS supported and if a download for it is available on this forum could someone please give me the link to it. I spent over an hour searching and couldn't find it.

Thanks,
Tony

Basically there are two versions available for you - either the PDA or PNA versions. The best version is a PNA because TTS is available. For some strange reason, iGO8 does not permit TTS under its PDA releases even though many PDAs can do TTS. Take a look at this thread (viewtopic.php?f=255&t=53368) and if you like what you see, upgrade to the Jun 2009 version.

After many, many, hours of trying I still can't figure out how to install IG8 on my Ipaq 310. Does anyone have step by step instructions on how to do this. Is there an Install.exe or something were it can be installed just like a regular piece of software. I need an IGO for dummy's book. PLEASE HELP ME. I have to software and I have the North Carolina map I just need to make it all work together.

Thanks,
Tony

Download the booce version.
Remove the UK contents and placed it with US contents and you are good to go!

I have both files downloaded. It looks like RAR 2 is the USA file. I unzipped both files. RAR 1 and 2. Now should I copy everything from file 2 into file 1 folder and tell it to replace the files with the same names? If that is correct I still don't understand how to install this on my Ipaq 310. Do I remove all the files from my Ipaq and replace them with the downloaded files? Can someone please give me step by step instructions on how to get this to work on m Ipaq? I am desperate to get this working.
Thanks,
Tony

All you need to do is unzip the it.
You will get two directories
1) 2577
2) IGO8

A) Remove the UK contents. If you have lots of room on your SD card, there is no need to remove. Just add the USA MAP, DEM file, etc to the proper sub directory under contents

They should work fine.

also jdownloader works fine, just had to copy and paste each link separately, ( if you would posted them as regular text or text box it would show it in full rather then with dots)

Use a Download Manager for best speed.

Thanks for the maps and I am looking forward to NT maps when they are avaliable.
