It´s just to state that with the new version of Igo8 8.0.0.35389 the Portuguese TTS voices work very well, no more freezes crashes!!

Problem solved :D

Thank you again,

Zircum

A silly question.
Where do i have to put the TTS files?

The TTS files should be copied to "igo8\tts" folder.

I figured how to increase the volume level for Loquendo TTS voices. They are still not as loud as most of standard non-TTS iGo voices, but much louder than before! I can finally hear Susan when driving on a highway with music on :). Dave's level is a bit lower, but still ok. Kate was already louder than Dave and Susan - still this mod increased her voice volume a little bit as well. I did not test Simon at all, although I applied the same mod to his voice too.

Here's the archive containing new voice profiles for 4 English voices:
http://rapidshare.com/files/116940316/Eng_LoqTTS_Profiles_Mod_HighVolume.rar.

This archive contains 4 voice profiles that go to iGo8\content\voice folder - these profiles include all changes needed to increase volume. They also contain all changes I applied to TTS voices before, as I posted earlier in this thread.

Also in the archive are EnglishGb6.9.lex and EnglishUS6.9.lex files, slightly modified compare to original version posted by ladude626. It makes the english TTS voices to say "West" instead of spelling "W" (it already pronounced other directions - E, S, N etc - correctly), and includes a couple other minor pronunciation fixes. ladude626 - you may consider updating your packages to include these fixes, you can find all of them (there are only a few) by comparing these files with their original versions. These changes have nothing to do with volume.

To apply the mods, just unpack the downloaded archive, and replace your existing voice profiles and/or .lex files by their new versions. Remember - this is not the complete TTS package - you must have TTS already installed and working with iGo before you can use this volume and pronunciation fix.

If you do not like the "reduced" set of voice commands, the package also contains a separate commands.csv file. To have original full set of voice commands, you will need to repack the voice profiles with this version of commands.csv file replacing the one that's already there. This is the common version for all voice profiles. I'm too lazy to create separate versions of voice profiles for full and reduced set of commands - so please do it yourself if you want it.

These are English language profiles only. If you would like to increase the volume of other voices, you will need to make the same changes in commands.csv and info.ini files of these other voice profiles to include "\volume=100" tag in front of every voice command in these files. Please do not ask me how to do that - refer to modified English files to figure it out. (NOTE: 100 is the maximum value supported by Loquendo. Anything above 100 will not make voices louder!)

Now, when the volume problem is no longer a problem, and when the new April version of iGo resolved stability issues when using TTS, the only problem left is with TTS saying the road numbers instead of street names. Moon, where are you?? Please respond to my questions here - hopefully with your help we can make TTS voices perfect!

tb813, great effort. I just tested it with radio on, window half open and now I can hear Susan now. Much much improved!

Is 100 the maximum value? Can we use larger value to make it even louder?

I don´t see this value in the list of commands. Where is this value? There are only values from 0 to 1000 before commands. Are these the values for sound? Can i put them all to 1000?

Look for the \volume=100 entries. There are a lot. :)

Example:

,"100[then1,X=1]*07_turn","\volume=100 Then, take the next %2 %destname .","02-65-70 Then take the next %*. (X=1)"

I changed the .Ini File for Dutch language Willem and Saskia. Also I modified the the .CSV file the same as yours. I got no sound when driving. Only the sounds modified in the .Ini file can be hearth. Do I need to make a modified "Dutch6.5.lex" for Dutch Too? And if so, how can I make that? With what programm? Thank you very much

Hi,

What did you change exactly in the dutch .csv files? I corrected the afslag end afslag nummer text in the destinations file, and all the phrases in the command file to it say it like Rijd de A4 op without adding the in to it. What else did you change. Maybe I overlooked something, it's apperant that the creator didn't speak dutch while creating the csv files....

Thanks, cheers,

If there's no sound then you did something wrong, and corrupted your commands.csv somehow. What did you use to edit it? Use only simpliest editor, like Notepad, and not Excel!

That was the problem. I had modified it with excel. I tryed it again for Willem. It works now. The sound is louder, but not like the normal sounds. But it's much better now. Thanks for your quick answer.

notepad, of cource :)

I never lost sound, altough I did get some numbers instead of streetnames. After correcting that I suspect everything is OK, altough I didn't do very much driving since editing is.
