Actually, I have found the spanish voice profiles that came with the HP iPaq 310 along with French, Dutch, Italian, Greek, Polish, German, Porturgese, and Polish. Let me know how you think of these profiles. You should use this as a baseline for further modification.

One thing, every time I reach a roundabout iGO crashes. any solution????

ladude626 wrote:It crashes if you don't save the .csv file correctly. Thanks for the effort, I will have a look and update the voices.

EDIT: Here are the spanish voices updated with your modification.

Ladude626:
Can you (or anybody else) get me the LoqDutch6.5.dll file?

(For PPC, because I have the PC version, but don't know how to port...)

Thanxx!

I have LoqFrench6.5.dll from HP iPAQ. Will that work? If so, you can get it here:

I've tried to edit the voice files in the zip and found that after re-zipping and copying back to SD
the voice is no longer selectable in the settings.

This is what I did....

1. Copy Voice_TTS-loq-Eng-uk-f1.zip to PC
2. unzip
3. edit with notepad
4. rezip
5. copy back to SD card

This didn't work as I said above, so I reinstated the original file and all was ok.....

2nd try....

1. Copy Voice_TTS-loq-Eng-uk-f1.zip to PC
2. Open with winzip
3. Edited file with notepad direct from inside winzip
4. saved the file ( Winzip asked if I wanted to replace existing file in zip, I said yes)
5. copied back to SD

This worked!!!, but I wonder why the first steps fail ???

What is the correct way to edit these files ?

Thanks for any help :)

I use Excel to edit the files and then Save As "CVS (Comma delimited) (*.cvs)". But I will upload the french voice profile from the HP iPaq 310 very soon.

I'm not sure about Winzip but I'm using Powerarchiver to save similar to your first method and it works.

I think I have worked out why I have a problem with editing the files.....

Winzip, Winrar and IZarc by default all cannot rezip the files into anything that's readable by igo8

but after installing powerarchiver..... I see it works fine!

I guess it must be something to do with the default compression settings being used by the other 3 utilities, maybe
powerarchiver has better compatible settings by default.

Anyone else with problems can probably play with the settings in their archiver and get it working....

or do what I was doing, open and edit straight from the archiver.... that way the zip format is preserved
I guess.

Now to play with the voices :)

Excellent job guys!!
3 suggestions though:

1. Speak speed it too fast, she pronounces the streets so fast, I can barely tell what she said. Perhaps there's a way to make her speak slower?
2. She doesn't pronounce direction streets correctly.. she says "N Birch Street" instead of "North Birch Street".. any way to fix that?
3. Oh, and both UK and US voices say "fwy" instead of "freeway".

Thanks!

File should be 26kb zipped. Remember to unzip before use because it contains 2 voice profiles.
