Hi Kajoe, could you please post your modified files for the Dutch TTS Willem and Saskia? :D

Thanks in advance, would like to take the TTS voices for a test drive tomorrow!

Can anyone else confirm that v8.0.0.35389 is more stable with TTS running?

I saw faults like "letf" instead of "left" and more in the Englisch TTS files. Maybe that is why your TTS is not stable. In the Dutch files I have modified the faults.

Saw this info on another forum.
I have not tried it, it may help someone.

TO CHANGE THE AUDIO ALERT FOR SPEED CAMERA

1. Create a folder called "audio" inside IGO8 folder
2. Put a wav file of your choice called !alert5.wav inside that folder
3. This wav will be used the new warning sound

Let me know how you get on with it.

Thanks Kajoe! Today was the first time I tried (Dutch) TTS voices in iGO8, and I can't say I like it all that much.. Both Saskia and Willem are explaining the directions to take in an illogical (confusing) way... and the transitions to other words sometimes have a long pause or some noise, like part of a word. Then again, the normal Dutch voices aren't too good either imo, and i like the pronounciation of streets!

Edit: Let me add that sometimes both speakers are talking way too fast, sometimes even skipping the beginning or end of a word... also the use of the dutch language is totally wrong (grammar, structures of sentences, etc.)... Back to non-TTS "De Haan 1.0", the best Dutch voice thus far imo.

Hi ladude626,

I replaced the original dictionary file with the EnglishUS6.9 Dictionary file downloaded from page 1: http://rapidshare.com/files/114823922/EnglishUs6.9.lex

It almost corrected all pronunciation of abbreviations for US and Canada maps, except one.
It pronounces "Dr" ----> "doctor", rather than "drive".

ladude626 or some one who know how, is that possible to fix the abbreviation "Dr" to pronounce it as "Drive". Then re-upload the new Dictionary file again. Thank you very much in advance.

EDIT: Never mind, I fixed it already.

Hi:
Does yours pronounce SW (South West) properly? Mine says software for SW.

I just installed the version provided by tb813, so I will post if his version also does this.

By the way, tb813, you are awesome!! Volume increase worked great! Thank you very much!!

I've corrected the error and have created a modified dictionary for all languages to fix pronunciation here:

You can change speed of sound in the info.ini file. Make "tts_rate=40" instead of "tts_rate=50".
