Are you sure that it says THE for turns, like in the quote above? And not just for some keep left/right maneuvers? I could not verify it right now as I don't have my PNA with me, but looking at commands.csv that's what I see.

If this is for keep left/right only, you'll need to find all occurances of "on the %streetname" (not including the quotes) in the command.csv file (they are all within the template priorities_2 block), and replace them by: "on to %streetname", or just "%destname" (without "on to" part al all).
I agree that it should not say THE, just did not notice it myself before...
...

The louder voices files have improved this problem but not solved it. I can try editing the commands.csv file and see if I can get it right this time. I don't understand why I'm the only one reporting it? I don't know what would be different on my c320 that would cause this.

I have a c320 and I'm experiencing the "on to" problem but to my ears it sounds like "on tah" like it's sloppy pronunciation. I tried changing the command.csv file, replacing "on the %streetname" with "on to %streetname" but it had no effect. I also changed it to "on too" but that didn't work either so the problem must lie somewhere else? :?

Wow, that's very interesting! Mine says numbers in this exact simulation :( :
"1072" instead of "Kyles Lane"
"127" instead od "Dixie Highway"
What could be the difference?? Moon, do you use the TTS packages from this thread? What version of iGo - March (PDA) or February (PNA)? Did you apply any mods to data.zip? What's in your SYS.TXT?

Did anyone find a solution to the above problem?????

Thanks tb813 for the TTS voices mods (Kate's hot!!! reminded me Julie Andrews). It's loud and almost perfect except that iGO8 TTS says the number for ANY and ALL roads that display a number along with the street name at the top of the screen.

It will be perfect if possible to make it so it says the road names like Moon says his does!! Please we need your help!!! or Anyone?

Hi chicofox,
I tried English (UK) Kate and it does sound like "on tah". Definitely sounds like "on the" for English (US) Susan.

;--- TTS Settings
;tts_min_ready_wav=1
;tts_getaway_time=50
;tts_expected_engine_delay=500
sound_q_length=50 ; Cache Pour l'audio (en msec)
keep_mute_at_voicetest=1 ; Coupe Janette AUSSI en mode Choix Langues Quand le 'Mute' est Active
;mute_os_key= 1

Merci (Thank's) and sorry for French Mail, but it's for Langage French TTS Only (So If You Not read fr, You Cannnot use TTS Fr hihi)

To correct the pronounciation for the "onto" you can edit the EnglishUs6.9.lex or EnglishGb6.9.lex file. Just add an entry of the form

"onto" = "ontoo"

and it will sound better (at least sounds better to my ears).

By the way, was anybody able to decrypt the ".lex" files in the voice dirs? It looks like an easy encrypition that adds some number to the ascii code, but not sure ...

@chicofox,

Do you have problem of TTS says the number for ANY and ALL roads that display a number along with the street name at the top of the screen.
Example:
Roadname on screen ---> Dixie Hwy (127) TTS says ---> "127" instead of "Dixie Highway"
Roadname on screen ---> Kyles Ln (1072) TTS says ---> "1072" instead of "Kyles Lane"
Roadname on screen ---> Highland Ave TTS says ---> "Highland Avenue"

I have this problem for both versions of iGO8 TTS for PNA v29000 & v35389. Anyone has found a solution?

It's not really encrypted. Just open it in Word with ASCII-US encoding and save it as a .txt file. Rename the file to .lex and open in LexEditor software and re-save to remove the comments.
