Hi there,
Need some help here please, I am using Navigon 7.4.2 B802 uploaded by with Q3 2009 NA on my Omnitech:
1. When I turned on Navigon and go to the map it shows my location on whole NA map then I need to zoom the whole map to see where I am in the NA as compared to iGO who shows my location on streets.
2. I have no text to speech, thus no announcement of street names. I have “eng-USA_Dagmar_sound.nfs and “eng-USA_Sarah_def_tts.sar” in my sound folder.
3. Didn’t show the current time as compared to iGO who does show time
4. How to see the demo/simulation after when it shows you some routes

Thanks and really appreciate your help.

Hi I also use an Omnitech. Some solutions could be:

1. I always have the same problem, I usually or just wait and it would zoom automatically, or return to the main menu and then go back to the Show Map, and the problem is solved.
2. Options > Settings > General > page 3/3 > Language > "English (USA)". Also: Options > Settings > Navigation > page 2/3 > Announce Streets Names > Yes
3. Navigon shows either the "time of arrival" or the "time remaining" not both as iGo. Options > Settings > Navigation > page 2/3 > Indication of Travel Time > (select the menu list) > "Estimated Time of Arrival"
4.You need to have the maps for those routes (and the routes should be placed in the "ExampleRoutes" folder), to load them: Options > Route Planning > Options > Saved Routes > ( select the one that you want, remember to have the map required, I think those are routes for Germany, older versions had USA Las Vegas and NY routes but I dont think those are compatible with this release)

Hope this help you

3. I've seen in certain skin that display current time. To display current time, try to set the following to 1:

<ShowSystemTime> in ApplicationSettings.xml
<DevModeState> in UserSettings.xml

It works for me at least when I am using that skin. If the font is too big, edit 0x10 in template305416.dat (or template36.dat in 7.4.3).

4. To simulate a route, click the option button after route calculation and choose simulation. It will then give you the 3 optional routes to choose for simulation. You don't need to save the route.

Hi medinauta,
Thanks so much for the quick help. Now can see my position on the streets, tts is working, can partially see the current time and route simulation is working too.

Hi tourist2,
Thanks so much, after changing the setting now I can see the clock with current time. However there is a box around the time clock and that box is hiding somewhat the first and last digit of the clock, for example if time is 19:31 is shows 9:3. You mentioned to change the font but I was unable to locate the file “template305416.dat”, where that file would be? Also when it shows time remains to a destination, I am unable to see the minutes, like 02:.., looks like related to font size too. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again

Joe

Hi
I tried to install this Version, but i have Problems with te destination. I can choose the Land, no problem. But after this i cannot enter the Town or Zip Code.
The keyboard is getting dark..

Ive put my maps and landmarks in the Map Folder (like version 7.4.0). In the settings i see that the Q1 2009 Maps are active..

Any Idea..

The template.dat files are packed inside the MobileNavigator.res. To edit the res file, the simplest way is by MN6resourceView.exe.

Hi Odyman,
Tried the fix but fonts are still the same (little bit big), can't see the full digital clock.
Thanks

Hi tourist2,
Got "MN6resourceView.exe" and now can see template305416.dat. Please elaborate what do you mean by edit 0x10? The only thing that I can see is:

00000000 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
00000010 09 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 . . . . . . . . . . . .

Thanks a lot.

Setting <DevModeState> to 1 gives me time in the upper right corner plus something else pops up every now and then. I think it has something to do with GPS position data.

0x10 is the first pair in the second row where it shows 09. Change it to 07 will fit the clock inside the box.

tourist2, thanks big time, 07 did make a difference. Now clock time is more visible. I will see if going to 06 make any more difference?
Thanks again
