Hey mate

you need to allow extensions to be show by click tools-folder options-view-then untick hide extensions for known types... do this when in my computer screen and thats it...

I have all the platinum 07 maps for the US bit could not DL the instructions on how to mod the maps.I'm currently (slowly) DLing the important counties.
I've used Mapopolis for many years and just got a GPS enabled phone (HTC x7501) and would like to try it out. Maybe there is a way to make the Platinum Maps GPS capable?
Thanks

The platinum maps can be converted to Nav maps.
Using a Hex editor search for 00 02 01 00 and change the last 00 to 01.
This will be the the 00 02 01 00 just before the copywrite statement.
Just after that will be 44 28. This needs to be changed to 49 E1.
The maps will then play as GPS Maps.
I have already converted some of the platinum maps I have. Works well.

All Mapopolis maps can be downloaded from www.pdamaps.net.
There's also excellent map feature that allows you to download by picking each county on the map or download the full state.

Just a note, I have downloaded the current Mapopilis and paid the 5 bucks for unlimited map downloads. Seems to work ok but I think the maps are a bit old so recent construction will not show up, at least the ND and SD show this problem.
