High Quality TTS Voices for iGo8 and MioMap 2008
Requirements: iGo 8 or MioMap 2008
Overview: These are high-quality TTS voices that were adapted from TomTom v7. I believe they are 32kHz version which is better the 11.6kHz version that comes with iGo8.

More Info: http://www.i-go.com

Download Instructions: Simply copy the complete content inside the zip file to your \iGo8 folder and overwrite any files it asks you to. Then start up iGo8, go to Settings->Regional->Voice Language and select the TTS voice. If you did everything correctly, you should hear "Have a nice trip, drive carefully."

**Note: To install TTS voices to iGo 8 PDA Final, you MUST uninstall and reinstall iGo AFTER copying the TTS voices over to your SD card.**

ladude626,

you have obviously put a lot of time into this...well done!

Is there any way to get Loquendo to work with a wince 4.2 core like rssolo (miomap 3.3)?

Or perhaps can C710 be reflashed with WinCE 5? Sorry for the off topic, I'm really interested. Thanks! :)

has anyone tried on winCE4.2 and get it working? when u click on the voice in settings it says have a nice trip but it won't actually say the TTS when u test/real drive it on the roads?

i got my samanthaTTS to say have a nice trip when u enable it in the settings screen but of course its all muted when u test drive it or test demo it

the other TTS just clicks on and says 'please wait' NO audible test sounds at all!

can anyone edit the files to make it work for winCE4.2????

cheers

It works in loox N560 although it tends to slow down at least in the simulation.

A greeting.

Much better voice quality - thanks!

Unfortunately, it is still not picking up the correct roadname (roadnr.EnglishUs6.8.lex and/or roadnrAUS.EnglishUS6.8.lex) overrides - for example "SW Main Street" is pronounced "software main street" despite 'roadnr.EnglishUs6.8.lex' and/or 'roadnrAUS.EnglishUS6.8.lex' having an entry "SW" = "SOUTH WEST"

Any ideas?

JD.

The problem with a WinCe 4.2 device is only on Igo8?
Because V7 navigator (Which is an IGO clone) works on my Wince 4.2 device (mio269) with TTS.

Yes iGO8 uses Loquendo TTS which only appears to work on WinCE 5.0 but MioMap 3.3 and V7 Navigator uses Rssolo TTS which does work on WinCE 4.2.
