The program is build for WM5, WM6, WM6.1 , PPC only.

Which device and OS you have?

Hey Zeno, thanks for your help.

I have the Toshiba G810. WM 6.1.

Hi, I have updated the installer to 6.0a. Please try it and send your comments.
The drivers are copied to Windows folder. Three links are created in Programs.
Look in Remove Programs, you'll see the 7 new modules installed.

FTDI?
I did not use their drivers due to legal aspects. They do not permit to use /modify their drivers if not used on a FTDI product.
In case you use an FTDI product, you should use their original driver.

Look at first page of the thread:

USB-to-Serial Port driver (start Terminal in Start-Programs for configuration).

RS232 USB Serial Driver (start RS232 USB Serial Driver in Start-Programs for configuration).

You must know EXACTLY the serial protocol used by your device.

If the device still asks for Manufacturer, write a generic name, for ex. "Generic Serial", if correctly configured and your device is not protected against other than its manufacturer driver, it should work, just continue to configure the protocol.
If it refuses, than it's the device which "is protected" against other manufacturer driver.

Which means the manufacturer wanted from beginning to stop using the device in other environments, a simply way to make more money :)

Unfortunately my theory regarding the WM5 problem it's not true, I've just flashed my device and installed WM6.1 but the situation is the same, no CD/DVD drive visible, and I have just one device for testing :-( . But I have a good news to, it seems that I managed to connect and the PDA has recognised a Keyspan USA-19HS USB serial adapter. I don't know how to test it if it works or not, any ideas?

Try with one of these names:
rzeshcd.dll
EZHCD
HCD
OAK
not sure if it will work. I guess it depends on how is implemented the USB interface to your unit.

If your Keyspan is recognized, you can start one of the serial programs named on page 1 and configure your serial interface.

Hi Zeno,
This may seem like a stupid question but I want to know what do you mean by USB HOST? Is is a USB port which I use to sync my O2 Atom with my PC with a USB cable?
Thanks in advance..

USB Host means that your phone acts as a virtual PC which has USB ports where you can connect various peripherals via an usb cable, same way you do on your ordinary Windows based PC.
There's a version called OTG (OnTheGo) -like on many newer HTC phones where the USB host function is "disguised" via same USB port by which the phone can be connected via Active Sync to a PC. Here there's no dedicated USB host chip on the board but the processor acts like a host and implements the functions normally done by the dedicated USBhost chip.
This variant is used by manufacturers for just shorting on costs.
