Stephanie Plum



Stephanie Plum is a fictional character and the protagonist in a series of novels written by Janet Evanovich. She is a female bounty hunter.

Ms Plum runs through jobs and cars in an amazing fashion; that is, she gets fired a lot, and so do her cars, when they aren't being shot at or blown up. Her primary job through the series is bounty hunting or finding people who are missing or wanted, usually by the law. She is brash, hapless and lucky... getting into and out of trouble with a combination of nerve, recklessness and some "help" from her friends and family. (Some friends and family regularly get her into trouble, while her two romantic interests help her live through it.) She's endearing -- both because the mayhem she leaves in her wake is what we'd all like to do sometimes and, I suspect, because the messier her life appears as she muddles through, the better we can feel about not getting into that kind of scrape.

As of November 2015, Stephanie has appeared in 22 full-length novels, four holiday novellas, and a short story in a compilation of various authors' works. The first book, One for the Money, was adapted as a 2012 film starring Katherine Heigl as Stephanie.

- After graduation, Stephanie married Dickie Orr, then promptly divorced him after discovering him in their new home, cheating on her with rival Joyce Barnhardt on their brand new dining room table.

25. (ElleKing) Are the books from one of the following genres: police/thriller/horror/anticipation? A simple Yes or No is debatable, but I lean towards No.
- Even though it's a No for me, some might not agree. Joe Morelli, Stephanie's on-and-off boyfriend, is a vice cop, and she deals with a lot of cops in her line of work and her mischief. Of course, there is some thriller involved in being a bounty hunter.

- A lot of people died in the books, and many times Stephanie comes across them, but they are not someone from her close circles.
