Regan MacNeil




Regan Teresa MacNeil (born November 11, 1961) is a fictional character from William Peter Blatty's horror novel and film, The Exorcist (1973) and its first sequel, Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977). In both films, she was portrayed by Linda Blair and in the TV Series (2016), she's portrayed by Geena Davis.



Regan MacNeil is a 12-year-old girl and the daughter of actress Chris MacNeil. She is described as shy, even different, and it is not within her nature to behave aggressively. She displays strange and aggressive behaviors after playing with a Ouija board, which are later revealed as early symptoms of demonic possession.



Part of what makes Regan’s predicament so horrifying is that she is, pea-soup vomit and seeping facial sores notwithstanding, recognisably still a young girl, and the depravity of her corrupted innocence, especially during some of the more overtly sexualized scenes, is almost unwatchable as a result. Unforgettably portrayed by Linda Blair, Regan is such an iconic horror emblem.

She's very suitable choice for Halloween.
I'm sorry for any misleading and confusion that I might have caused. Adult Regan in the TV series is very different from the classic Regan from movie that everyone knows so well. They are like different characters. The answer to some questions cannot be applied to both of them. However, I couldn't dismiss her existence in the TV series.
