Overview: artnear - the first global guide to contemporary art for iPhone and iTouch - provides you with a selection of the best galleries and exhibitions world wide. Our extensive database is conceived for the busy art lover, professional, or collector who doesn’t have time to waste in sifting though long lists in which outstanding galleries are mixed in with antique shops or local venues.


We provide an edited list that allows users to distinguish among venues based on their profile in the art market and the kinds of artists they show. Our current focus is on internationally recognized venues with a proven track record. In future, we will expand to include younger and “underground” venues.

Use our global guide to browse by venue, artist or event, or locate nearby venues - all linked to maps and much more. No matter whether you’re in New York, Milan, Paris, London, Berlin, or anywhere else - with artnear you will always have all the information you need at your fingertips.

Features:

Near - Find art around you (set the distance of the search yourself) - the list can include galleries, museums, public art, and more. A map will show you the locations of the different venues nearby. You’ll be able to see the current artist, show or event, or select a specific venue for more detailed information.

Venues - Search or browse by art venus any city in the world. Information includes current and upcoming shows, artists represented, as well as address, phone and web site. Review images of shows and artist represented.

Artists - Search or browse by artist. Find which gallery represents a given artist in any city in the world, or view artists with current and upcoming shows or view images of artwork in the artist detail page.

Calendar - Never miss a show again! Our calendar will keep you posted about openings and other art related events. Browse by any future date and location (for events in Paris next week, for example). Artnear even warns you when a show is closing!

Bookmarks - Bookmark you favorite venues and shows for easy access, organize a trip in advance by bookmarking locations you want to visit.

Fixed problems with cache - data is now loaded live as needed

Enhanced regional "guides" organization. Now you can roll to the different regions from a list. You can then select to sort by sub-guide (city/neighborhood) or alphabetical.
