Thanks so much! Any idea when you will update them (specifically 3.1.3)?
Thanks again!

EDIT: For anyone looking for the newest firmware, download and install the 3.0 firmware from the link I posted previously. Then you sync your ipod using iTunes. After that, when you connect, iTunes will let you know there is newer firmware, then you can download and install it free.

if you do that, you won't be able to unlock your iPhone

What about phones which were bought unlocked? Can I upgrade to 3.1.3 and jailbreak it without losing my unlock?

So if mine comes with 3.1.2 and is already unlocked when I got it from the operator to use on all operators I can safely upgrade to 3.1.3 and jailbreak it?

yes, cause unlocking of your device is related to your operator. Check for what version of bootloader and baseband is possible jailbreak, i'm not sure what are versions like 5.12.01 - baseband on 3.1.3 , and check version of your bootloader 6.04 or whateva!

To check version of your bootloader use this nice tool - f0recast from here

http://ih8sn0w.com/index.php/welcome.snow

Cause when you upgrade firmware, that will upgrade version of your baseband , check on google what version of baseband and bootloader are supported for jailbreak on 3.1.3 original firmware, cause you can download customized 3.1.3 firmware, and with customized 3.1.3. firmware you'll not have problem with posibilty to change baseband...

So I've been trying to help a friend out with Jailbreaking his Itouch 2G and getting him free apps and stuff. So far I've jailbroken the phone, gotten openSSH, got respringer, and got winscp working, but am still a little troubled. Some of the guides mentioned .deb files. Where do I get those? When I download the files from this site they're always .rars and when I unzip them I'm not finding any .debs or .ipas.

Some people who upload .deb or .ipa actually just change the extension rather than zipping them up. So if you download file.rar try renaming it file.deb

Heres my deal ladies and gentlemen. I have spent probably 10 hours trying to jailbreak my iphone. I am new to the whole iPhone world. I came over from WM platforms. I had an HTC Fuze and Tilt 2. Sadly I have bad luck with phones so my ex gave me her iPhone 3G. I plugged the iPhone in and updated to the new 3.1.3 (7E18). Big OOPS!!!!! Here are the specs:

AT&T iPhone 3G
Version: 3.1.3 (7E18)
Model MB
Firmware 05.12.01

I have done so much research and everyone says that the new bootrom can be jailbroken but not unlocked using redsn0w 0.9.2. Ok heres my issue. I used the 3.1.2 firmware in redsn0w as specified and all is well for jailbreak! Except one thing! I have no service!!! I heard you can download bootneuter (spellling?) from Cydia but theres one problem. I can't with no service on my phone! I don't have access to wi-fi as I use my computer at work to jailbreak it and I use my phone for business. Could somebody please help me! Is there a way to install bootneuter from my work PC? By the way I am on a windows pc with xp and not a mac.
