Quicky Nr. 31

How can two objects that have the same density, thickness, colour, shape, age, profile, surface, weight and chemical structure be recognized from each other by feel, or even quicker: by sight?

By reading the braille dots on them

Nope. If they have different braille dots then their 'surface' isn't the same. - G & a

by the name tags, if they have one!

Nope, 'name tags' can't be felt unless they are in 'relief' but that would alter the surface... - G & a

Looks this 'Quicky' has been answered by solving Sherlockx's riddle here: A not so quickie puzzle Now 75WRZ$ Solved. Well done. (Nice riddle, Sherlockx ;) )

So, let's move on...

Quicky Nr. 31

In standard Western musical notation, the staff - or stave - is a set of five horizontal lines and four spaces, each of which represents a different musical pitch.

Here is an example:

Now, this is our question:

When reading a songbook with music notes, how can one see what instrument the music was written for?

By reading the cover of the book? ;)

Haha! Nice try, Zach! We mean just by looking at the staff and the notes... - G & a

Hmmm tough. But maybe I'm thinking on the "right lines"... ;)

I think it has to do with the chords involved. And maybe else. I know on a piano music we have many with both the treble and bass clef instructing the player to use both hands. Brass instruments mostly only use treble clef. And guitars (most acoustic) unless very low pitched ones only use treble clef. So that could give you insight.

Also the chords. You might see a chord of C/F/A. This would be hard to play on anything but piano. As well as seeing something like A/G would be impossible on trumpet...

So I'd say first and foremost, being able to read the music would help give a better understanding of what instrument it's intended for.

By the placement of one of the different types of clef on one of the lines of the staff or stave and the use of a brace to connect 2 staves/staffs.
Or did you want the long answer?

Very well. As nobody complains about Mr Fufu and Sherlockx's reply, we're tempted to believe their explanation. Thanks to both of you. Should I make a fortune in a music career in the future, I will remember you! (Ain't that a precious reward? ;) )

In the meantime - speaking of the future - let's move on with the quickies...

Quicky Nr. 32

Zach and Blue are trapped in a time loop - a mobius - strip of time in our story (here).

How can they get out? :?
(edit by Blue)I know but I am not telling. p.s try reading Heinlein's Number of the Beast

Jubal, the interior of the Critics Lounge is somewhat like a Klein bottle, so I hear-I've

"Aha!"
"Yes, he and Mobyas are old friends-two immortals of similar tastes; they have worked together
many times. I promised critics free entrance; I made no mention of exit. I promised them typewriters and
tape recorders; I did not promise typewriter ribbons or recorder tapes. I promised them their own
private bar, no charges. Wouldn't be fair to charge as the bar has no liquor in it. There is a lavish dining
room but no kitchen."
"Lafe, wouldn't it have been kinder to have liquidated them?"
"Who said I wanted to be kind to them? They won't starve; their commissary is by the Kilkenny Cats
method. It should please them; they are used to human flesh and enjoy drinking blood-some I suspect of
eating their young. But, Jubal, there is an easy way out. . . for any critic who is even half as smart as he
thinks he is."
"Go on."

Oh dear I cannot seem to find the next paragraph
