Overview: Transformers: The Ultimate Guide is an officially licensed guide from DK Publishing, written by Simon Furman in 2004 and published in 2005. In 2007, a second edition was published, increasing the page count from 144 to 152 (visibly different by having a reflective background on the cover instead of white).
Transformers: The Ultimate Guide will look in detail at the Transformers, with spreads following each character's story arc, and illustrations of important robots. The text will explain the robots' origins, abilities, weapons, and exactly how each Transformer "transforms" from robot mode to vehicle mode. Special feature spreads will cover all aspects of the Transformers world - the origins of the Transformers, with specially commissioned maps and detailed city plans of their home planet of Cybertron, the giant space ark in which the Transformers traveled to Earth, major wars in Transformers history, and much more.
